Chapter twenty-one - Clint felt extremely uncomfortable.
Peter was possibly very, very tired. No, he was extremely tired. He hadn't been able to sleep, at all. His mind was plagued with thoughts of Gamot (Yes, he still exists. I'm sorry, I completely forgot about him.) and the dangers he was placing MJ in now that they were in a relationship together. So, when he woke up the next day he had only one thought in mind, he needed to talk to someone.
But first, like every 16-year-old. School. So he endured a torturous day of school in which he sat restlessly in his cold hard plastic chairs, many a time wanting to rip out the throats of his teachers before reminding himself he was happy-go-lucky Peter Parker and he shouldn't be having sadistic thoughts. Those were meant for MJ. So he left it up to her. In between the quick and sweet kissing she shared all of her sadistic thoughts and that, for some odd reason, surprisingly calmed him down. Ned had spent most of their classes staring happily at the new couple, occasionally whispering into Peters' ear childish words such as,
Example A) Peter and MJ sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
Response A) Shut up.
Example B) When are you getting married? And can I be the best man?
Response B) What the heck dude, and of course, you can.
Example C) Oh Em Gee! You guys are soooooo cute together.
Response C) We are aren't we? Now, leave me alone.
It was highly irritating but assuring that Ned fully supported their relationship and wasn't at all offended that Peter was spending more time with MJ than with him. Lucky for Peter (Which was surprising due to his Parker-Luck.) Ned didn't believe in any of those stupid bro-codes like 'Bros before Hoes'. MJ found that quote offensive and Peter had to agree.
When he finally got home he face-planted onto the couch and let out an aggravated groan.
"What's got you in a tangle?"
Peter glanced up to the ventilation pipes, where he was the bird himself. Clint Barton a.k.a Hawkeye.
"'Sup Uncle Clint," Peter responded softly.
"Hey, Spider-boy." Clint dropped down from the ceiling and landing with a roll on the large couch. He was in casual clothes wearing a button up flannel and denim pants. Peter propped himself up on his elbows to watch the man,
"Now that I think about it. Shouldn't you be with your family?" Peter asked. Clint sighed rubbing his forehead.
"Kid, I've learnt the hard way on why it's so important to separate my family life from my superhero life. With this new threat, I know I can't allow anyone to trace me back to my family in the safe-house," Clint said smiling as he thought about his wife and kids.
"Oh." Peter meekly said, he felt like it was his fault that Gamot was here. If only he had been strong enough to stop him, none of this would have happened. Clint would be able to go home, he wouldn't have to stress about managing his superhero and his normal life at the same time. It would all be ok. (The problem is that now, it would never be ok.)
"So, enough with the sob-story, what's got you down in the dumps?" Clint asked hoping to change the subject. (That wasn't gonna happen.)
"Unfortunately, I am in sort of the same situation as you." Peter nervously replied.
"And you wanna talk about it? (Peter nodded.) Aw hell, spill." Clint answered ruffling up Peters' hair. (Though on the inside he was screaming in agony.)
(I'm too lazy to write an entire dialogue and you guys will probably be too lazy to read it so here are some of the main points of it.)
. MJ (The <3 of his life.)
. Gatom (The pain in the ass.)
. The STRUGGLE of separating his superhero and his normal life.
. Feeling constantly stressed out and depressed.
. His emotions
- Guilt - Gatom
- Anger - Gatom
- Sadness - Life
- Love - MJ
- Happiness - His Family
- Fear - Vulture returning
. The fact that he feels so vulnerable with this new villain.
After Peter let all of his feelings out he began to cry, big fat ugly tears streamed down his faces as his choked sobs alerted three specific people in the tower that Peter was upset.
Natasha ran into the room first holding an especially sharp dagger, she wielded it around ready to destroy anyone who dares to harm her baby spider.
Loki came next an odd sea coloured glow around him, already half in his Jotun form ready to destroy the Nine Realms to protect his little brother.
Tony came in last breathing extremely hard after having to hurtle down 19 floors because the Stark advanced lift apparently wasn't fast enough for him, already wearing his wrist blasters and murder written onto his face.
All three visibly relaxed when they saw it was just Clint, and Natasha carelessly through her dagger behind her skewering a pretty green plant, Loki turned back into his Asgardian form and Tony removed the blasters from his hands. They didn't ask questions but just rushed forward and embraced the wailing boy and shushed and calmed him while muttering sweet nothings.
Clint felt extremely uncomfortable.
Natasha proceeded to make a couple of cups of hot chocolate and the squad, (Clint had sneakily left the room.) sat together on the island chatting and cheering Peter up.
After he had shared his thoughts and feelings they had a discussion and told him quite directly,
"You have to speak with MJ. If you're scared for her then you have to let her know what she should be scared about and you mustn't push her away." Natasha explained carefully resting her folded arms onto the table,
"If you push her away she won't know what the danger is meaning she would be in more trouble than you'd think she'd be in." Loki continued swirling his index finger around on the table.
"Um, just talk to her and know you can uh, talk to any of us if your worried or scared, kay?" Tony meekly continued. He wasn't good at that sorta shit.
Yet Peter grinned and nodded. Throwing his arms around the trio and thanking them profusely.
Agggh, I'm so sorry, I was so busy (doing nothing) I had no time to finish this chapter.
Hope it was good, I wrote it at 12 am and I am exhausted.
Ciao!
