I rested my head against the window and sighed. We were ten hours into the ride and it had been silent for so long. The radio played softly but we hadn't talked.

I looked at Fury. He had a focused look on his face as he watched the road ahead of him. I had offered to drive but he wouldn't let me. Not yet, at least. His lips were turned downwards and glasses covered his eyes. He was attractive and funny.

I couldn't get attracted to him. Not when I was at the top of my game. I was a master at my job and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I couldn't fall for an FBI agent with a cute smile and good looks. Not in a million years.

Fury glanced over. "Take a picture. It'll last longer."

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."

"What're are you thinking about?" Fury asked.

I gazed out the window, biting my lip. "Nothing important. You?"

"It's not important," Fury replied. "It's really nothing."

I laughed. "Okay, whatever. Copy me. It's fine. I don't mind."

Fury chuckled. "Funny. What do you like to do outside of work?"

I shrugged. "I like writing and reading. Hiking is pretty fun too but I don't do it often. I'm usually doing other things. What about you?"

"I like walking," Fury replied. "Reading as well. I'm busy, much like you, but I always appreciate a good novel. It's good for the brain."

I hummed and leaned back in my chair. It was hot and the windows were rolled all the way down. It was peaceful and I could feel my eyes dropping. I finally fell asleep, still partially asleep so I was on edge.

I was in a semi-deep sleep when I felt the car stop. I opened my eyes and we were at a truck stop. I fumbled with my seatbelt and got out. I walked to the bathroom with Fury and we split to the separate sides.

Half asleep, I tiredly took a leak and washed my hands. I looked up at my appearance in the mirror and saw my bedraggled look. My hair was a mess and I had bags under my eyes. It had to be close to midnight or something.

I brushed my hands through my hair to make it look better. I rubbed my face before leaving the bathroom. Fury was leaning against the car hood.

He tugged on his coat. "It's late. Do you want to spend the night here?"

"Spend the night here," I replied, yawning. "I'm exhausted and I can't imagine how you are."

Fury glanced at me tiredly. "I'm the same, darling. If you don't mind, I'd rather sleep than talk." He smirked. "Do you wanna join me?"

I rolled my eyes and smacked his shoulder as I passed by. "Don't be like that, you bastard. I don't sleep with strangers."

"You know me!" Fury exclaimed.

"Barely!" I replied as I opened the car door.

Fury leaned against the car to look at me, his eyes soft. "You're beautiful, Tessa. Do you want to do me the honor and sleep with me?"

I leaned against the car too. "You're glad that I don't kill you now, Fury, because I would love to do that right now. No, I won't, because I have the basic decency to wait until I know a person better."

Fury's smiled widened. "Does that mean you might one day?"

I raised my eyebrow, a neutral expression on my face. "Depends. Are you a top or a bottom?"

Fury laughed and got into the car. I followed suit and rested my head against the window, sipping up my jacket. My eyes fluttered shut, a large Cheshire cat smile on my face. I was going to enjoy being around Fury.
