I woke up cuddling with Fury. I was basically on top of him and his arms wrapped around me. I didn't immediately move, not wanting to wake Fury.

Fury finally woke up and looked at me. I looked at him before rolling away. Guilt washed over me as I got up to go to the bathroom, grabbing everything I needed on the way. Fury called my name but I ignored him. What I did wasn't necessary or wanted.

Once I was changed, I stared in the mirror. I made a mistake cuddling up to Fury while sleeping but I couldn't change it. He probably hated me but that wouldn't matter. I probably wouldn't see him after our mission ended.

That's when my eyes widened. We had talked about going on a date after all of this. I began to hate myself even more. I grabbed my hairbrush and started pulling at my hair. It was wild and crazy but at least I would be presentable. Not like Fury remotely liked me.

I finished and left the bathroom. I didn't even look at Fury. I couldn't bare to see the look he was giving me. I stuffed everything into my bag and grabbed my jacket, shrugging it on. I finally glanced at Fury and he was staring at me as he pulled on his jacket.

"Ready?" He asked.

I nodded, grabbing my bag. "Yeah. Are you?"

Nick nodded once before we headed out. He grabbed my hand and pulled me close as we checked out. I smiled a little at the receptionist and my fingers twitched. I didn't want to be holding Nick's hands but it felt natural for some reason.

We finished and left. My breathing finally stopped shaking when Fury let go of my hand. I got into the car and brought my knees to my chest. I stared out the window, keeping to myself as Fury drove off. I didn't want to speak in case I said something stupid.

"Are you mad?" Fury asked as we for onto the highway. "Did I do something?"

I shook my head. "No. I . . . it's nothing, really. I'm just dumb."

"I would say quite the opposite," Fury said. "You're incredibly smart, funny, and you have a bright smile. You'd make anyone fall in love. I'm surprised you haven't found anyone yet."

I looked over at Fury. "I'm scary. I don't play well with others and not the loveable kind."

"I'd say otherwise."

I grinned teasingly. "Does that mean you're in love with me, Fury?"

Fury shook his head, unable to keep a smile off his face. "No, Miyamoto, I am not. I'm just stating the facts."

"If you were, you'd say you're in love with me," I said. "But you aren't and I think you're being an idiot for not saying so. I'm pretty good at seeing through people's bullshit."

Fury shook his head, keeping his eyes on the road. "I'm not saying a thing."

I bit my lip. "Mhmm. What about that date we're supposed to go on after we get back? Is that going to be a one-time thing or is there going to be more?"

He wouldn't look at me. "Depends, princess. What do you want?"

"Depends," I shot back. "I'll have to see how well you perform."

"You have one dirty mind, Miyamoto," Fury said. "I can do just fine, for your information. I believe I can do satisfy you enough."

"I sure hope so," I said, grinning. "I'm hard to please."

Fury grabbed my hand. "Are you happy now?"

"I was never sad in the first place."

"Are you sure?" Fury asked. "You had a frown and seemed huffy. I wanted to make you happier. What made you sad by the way? Was it because of how we woke up today?"

I nodded, looking away. "Yeah. I thought it was a mistake."

"We were sleeping," Fury said. "It happens sometimes."

I stared out the window, thinking of the night before. "Sure."

"Was it something else?" Fury teased. "Maybe you wanted to get a little closer."

I smacked his shoulder. "No, it wasn't! I would never!"

Fury laughed. "Yeah, sure. That's not what I remember."

"So you were awake last night?" I asked.

"Yeah," Fury said. "I wanted to see what happened."

My face heated up and I looked away, refusing to look at Fury. He chuckled and we let the music take over. After a few hours of driving, I yawned and rested my head against the window.

"We're almost at a rest stop," Fury said. "We can stop there for a bit."

I nodded, sighing. "Good. It's late and I want to sleep."

Fury grabbed my hand. "Yeah, let's do that. I don't know how long I can last without sleep."

"I can drive for a bit," I suggested. "I don't mind."

"Trust you?" Fury said. "You're crazy."

I smiled. "Yeah, whatever. I really don't mind."

Fury smiled and squeezed my hand, bringing it to his lips. It wasn't too long before we pulled into a rest stop. We got out and went to the restrooms. I finished up and brushed out my hair. I looked worn out.

I was out first and I leaned against the side. I started shivering within a few minutes. It was too cold for me. I wrapped my coat around my body and bit my lip to try my lip from shaking.

Fury was out in a moment and stood in front of me. "Pretty night, huh?"

"It would if I wasn't so cold," I replied, barely containing my shaking body. "I am so cold."

Fury shifted closer. "Need an extra body warmth? I've got some to spare."

I rested my head on his shoulder. "Yeah, I do. Wanna cuddle in the backseat?"

"Sure," Fury responded. "I've got extra blankets and you don't look too heavy."

I laughed, turning to open the car door. "I'm not, trust me. As long as you don't move around too much."

"I won't, dear."

I couldn't remove a smile on my face as I made a bed in the back with Fury. We laid down, me on top. I wrapped my arms around his torso, listening to his heartbeat. Fury wrapped his arms around my waist, rubbing my back. It felt natural and comfortable to be in Fury's arms. I decided then that I liked being with Fury.
