"How is everything going with the A-Levels?" Louis asks while he lays on his chest, gently combing his hair backwards. If he was a cat he would be purring like mad.
Despite the permanent ache in his heart, everything seemed perfect in the world.
"So far so good. But I'm scared good won't be enough to get into any of my first choices."
He scans the room in search for his wallet. With Louis around he got distracted and forgot to check if it was in the living room or not.
"Which are..?"
"I'm only thinking of applying to three universities." He tells him. The most natural thing to do was keep telling him about his life like everything was okay. "But I'm hoping I get in Middlesex. That's the dream. They offer an excellent program in Photography."
"I'm sure you'll get in." Louis smiles at him, bittersweet. "But that's quite far."
"I know."
Louis raises his voice slightly, optimistic:
"I'm sure we'll make it work, whatever happens."
I wouldn't be so sure about that.
Slowly, Harry withdraws his head from his tanned chest. Louis frowns.
"I really need to go for a wee." He says, hoping he could have enough time to find his wallet without being suspicious.
He stands up from the bed and remembers something that could give him some extra time to search.
"Do you want anything to eat or drink?"
Louis frowns again.
"Why do you ask?"
"I can get us something to snack on, so we don't have to leave the bed so soon." He explains, trying to sound as careless and natural as possible. "I'm actually quite thirsty."
"Oh. Well, you should bring our glasses so we can finish our wine here. And if you can get anything you want from the kitchen if you're hungry."
