10. Homesick pt. 2

We arrived to the Diner and lucky for us, it wasn't that busy. I guess we came here early. We entered the place and I found a booth for us to sit. I just wanted so bad to take a picture but I forgot my camera at home. After about 4 minutes of waiting a lady, who looked about 20, came to our table. She was a blonde woman and has blue gorgeous eyes and was wearing a blue dress with a white collar and a white apron. Her name tag read, Rose. She smiled at us and gave us the menus.

"Whenever you guys are ready." She says and then leaves. I grab the menu and skim through it. Ooh the biscuit with sausage, cheese and egg sounds good. I might as well get 2 of those. I'm debating if I should get water or apple juice. I prefer water over any other liquid but I then decided to just get both. And 4 hash browns because I'm very very hungry.

"Hey kid" Said Cole. I turned to face him and I just raise my eyebrow.

"Yeah?" I say, my voice full of confusion.

"Here." He hands me a quarter. I smile and surely thought that it was for me and try to put it in my pocket. He laughs and points somewhere. "See that jukebox over there."

"Yeah... So you want me to waste this good amount of money for the cool looking jukebox." I say sarcastically. Luna and Cole laugh and he just nods. I get up from my seat and go to the jukebox.

"Now... Let's see what we have here." I say to myself. I insert the quarter and then keep looking through it. I finally cane across the most perfect song. It's also my favorite song of all time. (Okay now play the song that's linked up tHeRe, if you haven't already.)

I go back to the booth and see that the waitress came back. I sit and the music starts playing. She smiles and looks at me.

"I love this song." She says, closing here eyes. I give her a small smile and close my eyes too.

"This is one of my favorite songs." I say while hearing Benn E King sing, Darling, darling, stand by me. Oh stand by me. His voice is just so magical. I open my eyes and Cole begins to whisper in my ear.

"Good choice kid." And gives me a fist bump. I giggle and then the woman takes our order and leaves. This song brings back memories, so many good memories.

Camila and I used to listen to this song all the time. It was the most wonderful thing in the world to listen to this song with my best friend. I remember that day, we hardly knew each other and our families were at my house getting ready to go to the beach. I had my record player playing songs and when that last song played I went to the bin I had filled with records. I found the record that played Stand By Me and turns out that Camila also loved that song. We both were singing the song and this song brought us together.

Rose brought us our food and we just dive in. Cole is right, the food here is really good.

"Slow down kid." He starts to chuckle. I furrow my eyes at him and get a napkin. I clean my face and look at Luna then at Cole.

"The name is Natalia not kid." I then continue to eat.

"Wow she's a feisty one." He whispers to Luna. Luna giggles and I finished the first breakfast sandwich. Now to the second one that is!

Luna, Cole and I talked about things that happened years ago to us when we were younger. Cole said that when he was about the age of 6 he embarrassed his dad in front of his boss.

"When I was 6, we were at my dad's company picnic. I was introduced to his boss and I told him, 'My daddy says you're a son of a bitch.' My dad's coworkers fed me ice cream all afternoon." He says and we couldn't stop laughing.

"Oh my god, I wish when I was 6 I could have been given ice cream just from saying that." Says Luna, her laughter dying down a little.

This would have been the perfect time for a picture. I just wish I had brought that camera. I then hear the doorbell jingle and it got my attention. I snap my head and see a woman and her family coming in the diner. The thing that got my attention the most was that around her neck was a Polaroid camera. Just what I needed! I get up and run to the woman.

"Excuse me ma'am, would you mind if you could... Take a picture of us." I gestured at the booth. She gives me a warm smile and her gorgeous green eyes fills me with happiness.

"Of course my dear." She says. We get to the booth and Luna moves closer to Cole. Me being the childish person I am, I hope on Luna's lap and make myself room in the middle. She rolls her eyes and Cole just chuckles. I throw my arms around both of them.

"Okay, now." I told the woman. She nods and points the camera at us. I see the light flash, which I felt my pupils dilate, and hear the camera.

"Got it!" The woman come a to me and the photo is coming out of the camera. When it came out she take a it and waves it around before handing it to me.

"Thank you so much!" I say, my voice full of joy. The woman smiles and nods.

"Oh, you're so welcome, bye." She says. All three of us wave at the woman and she goes to a table with her family.

"Now I can put this in the scrapbook." I say to myself. Luna and Cole both get up and he leaves the money on the table.

"Let's go Natalia. I feel like a call is waiting for you." Luna says. I smile and nod. I run to the door, Cole holding it open, and try to run to the car. Not much excitement has happened yet but I have this weird gut feeling, I have no clue if its good or bad.
