Jughead's P.O.V

I got to Pop's around 5 and deciding to eat there before texting Cheryl to meet me at the at the Ghoulish Graveyard Bar.

Jughead🍔: Hey Cher, meet at the bar? I need advice.

Cheryl🍒: Sure. I'm at home so meet there in 15?

Jughead🍔: Works for me. See ya then.

Cheryl🍒: See ya soon.

*Cheryl, Jughead*

"Hey Cher." I approached her at the bar as she was taking a sip at her cherry cola.

"Jug! Hey! How are you?" She had so much enthusiasm in her voice, classic Cheryl.

"Eh, I'm alright. My mind is stuck in one place but other than that everything's going great." She suddenly smirked, confusing me. What does she know that I know?

"Ah. That Elizabeth girl in your head?"

"Maybe. But how would you know that?"

"Oh please. I saw how zoned out you were during lunch after talking about her. Plus, you just had detention with her. It's more than obvious for me to see. So, what's happening between you two? For her to be able to get stuck in your head she must be pretty special."

"That's the thing, nothing's happening. And I don't understand why?!" I was almost shouting so Cheryl and I left to talk outside where everyone wasn't listening.

"Maybe she's scared of you. You are Jughead Jones. King of the Ghoulies and Threatening Bad Boy of South Side High."

"No, she wasn't scared of me, she just acted as she hated me. She doesn't even know me. I've never even spoken to her before today. What do I do Cher? She said to me, and I quote straight from the mouth of Miss Elizabeth Smith, 'You're right, I do know who you are, but I'm not scared of you. So, tell me right now what you want or stay out of my way.' So yeah I've got basically no chance." I ended with a sigh.

"Oh please, it's been a day Jug! Besides, just use some of that Jones charm you've got." I laughed at her after that last comment.

"Only you would know all about the Jones charm." She shoved me playfully.

"Yeah right. Besides, I've got my eye on a different Ghoulie." She went quiet towards the end but I could still make out what she said.

"Oh yeah?" I was very intrigued by this point in the conversation and was hoping to get something out of her.

"I'm not telling you; we may be best friends but you'll just stuff it up or accidentally say something to them if I tell you.

"Cher, I'm hurt. I thought you trusted me." I pretended to act shocked and she rolled her eyes playfully at my horrible acting.

"Yeah, yeah." We headed inside and talked for about an hour while drinking our colas. Suddenly Cheryl's phone lit up and she looked directly at me after reading the notification, "Look, I gotta go. My mom needs me at home. I'll see you tomorrow at school. Bye Jug!"

"Bye Cher! Good luck!" I shouted to her because by now she was jogging away.

"Thanks!" Was all she shouted over her shoulder before she was out of sight. Since I had already eaten at Pop's, I decided to head home and probably eat something there while watching a couple movies before going to bed, since it was already 7. But then a knock on our house door disrupted my plans. My dad was at the bar and said he wouldn't be back until later so I didn't know who it could be.

Cheryl's P.O.V

I got home and my mum started shouting at me again. This happens almost every day I see her, which is why I leave early in the mornings and stay out until late or stay at friends houses. For a lady with a sweet name like Penelope, she sure does know how to make people feel horrible about themselves.

*Cheryl, Penelope*

"Cheryl! Where were you! It's already 7pm!" My mom is super uptight about how late I can stay out, she only allows me to stay out until 6 on school nights, causing me to sneak out most nights, and only out until 10 on weekends.

"Sorry Mom, I got caught up talking with Jughead. I promise it won't happen again." I got used to all the shouting, but sometimes it would get to me, including now. A tear slipped down my cheek as she shouted next at me.

"It better not, now go to your room. And I'll see you tomorrow night because I'm heading out early tomorrow morning." And with that I walked up to my room, and packed a bag to take to Jugheads house. I packed a pair of pj's and my outfit for school tomorrow, then snuck out my bedroom window.

I pushed my motorbike down the street until I knew it was out of range for my mom to hear when I started it. I hopped on and drove all the way to Jugheads house, which isn't very far, but I wasn't willing to walk. Once I got there, I knocked on his door. He looked shocked when he saw me, but I said one word and he let me in. That one word was,

"Mom."
