Gang Rivalry

~ Three ~

Betty's P.O.V

We didn't talk during class, we just sat there and said nothing. He told me his name, and I told him the name I go by. I already know who he is, obviously, but he doesn't know who I am. He's from the Ghoulies, and according to the 'South Side Gossip', he's their new King. He thinks he scares me but in reality, I'm not the slightest bit intimidated by him like everyone else here is.

Once class was over I went to my next class and went inside to sit with Veronica and Toni.

*Betty, Toni, Veronica, Teacher*

"Ugh. Guess what happened in my last class." I complained as I sat down.

"Let me guess, you got sat next to the Ghoulie King." Toni laughed, obviously not expecting that to have actually happened.

"Exactly that." Their facial expressions quickly shifted to absolute shock.

"Please tell me you're joking B."

"V, I wouldn't even imagine joking about that. But how am I supposed to get through an entire year sitting next to the King of our rival gang?"

"Easy, you never tell him you're the Serpent Princess, that way he will have no reason to bother you." Toni seemed like she had some sort of solution, but I knew better. I knew him better. I've heard about him and seen him around school. Even if he thinks I'm still a regular student, he's still going to bother me.

"T, he's definitely going to bother me no matter what. If anything, I think letting everyone know I'm the Serpent Princess will tell him to back off more." I knew it was a horrible idea, but maybe it was better than letting him walk all over me, or torment me.

"Omg B! No way! You would be risking your life and basically the cover of all the Serpents that go to school here! There's no way you can do that!" Veronica whisper-shouted at me. At this point in the conversation, we had to whisper because the teacher started the class a couple of minutes ago.

"Yeah I guess you're right V, I'm just trying to think of ways to get out of this torture that's going to last for the next year." That came out as a sigh, I really didn't want to have to just put up with him, I want to find a way to shut him up, except I can't do that without risking my cover, myself or the Serpents.

"If you three have finished your little gossip session, I'd like to get back to teaching this class."

"Yep, we're done. You may continue."

"Watch your tongue, Miss Smith, you've already got one detention this afternoon, I can still make it so you have another one tomorrow too."

I just rolled my eyes and turned to my notebook when I heard two people whisper to me.

"Detention?!" They both whisper-shouted to me at the same time once the teacher started talking again and had turned to face the board to write some notes up.

"Yeah, sorry guys. Sweetwater River is gonna have to wait until tomorrow." I said in a disappointed whisper to make sure we won't get caught again.

"Just skip." 

"But then I'll get suspended, and you know even my parents will be a bit disappointed if I'm suspended on the first day." My parents are the careless type parents, I mean they run a gang. They're the let me drink alcohol at our bar, wear whatever I want, hang out as late as I want, kind of parents, but even they have standards.

"Dam." And we stayed silent, making jokes here and then through the lesson.

Toni's P.O.V

Veronica and I got to class before Betty, so we saved her a seat at our table. No-one dared to sit in the spare fourth seat we had so we didn't really need to save it, but we had to be sure.

She walked into the classroom and I could tell just by her posture, and obviously, Veronica could too because she slightly elbowed me and gave me a concerned look. Betty sat down and started complaining about her last class. Veronica and I were very shocked, like to the point of shock where we couldn't speak, when she said she now sits next to Jughead Jones. THE Jughead Jones, Ghoulie King. 

We were disappointed when she said we couldn't go to Sweetwater River for our annual back to school swim. But we can go tomorrow, we always go at one point in the week. I'll just hang out with Veronica at Pop's like I usually do when Betty has detention and we don't.
