Betty's P.O.V
We were watching Rebel Without a Cause, while cuddling together on the couch, while Jughead was stroking my hair. Although this is my favourite movie, I just couldn't focus. I kept thinking about how I had to tell him about who I am. But how was he going to react to me being Serpent Princess?! This is the time I have to tell him, and I finally have the courage to say it.
*Betty, Jughead*
"Hey Juggie." It took everything in me to say that, how was I supposed to explain everything else?
"Yeah Betts." He looked down at me with his eyes full of love.
"There's something I have to tell you." I sat up, ready to tell him, and preparing for him to never want to speak to me again.
"What is it?" His face suddenly grew with concern.
"You know how I'm a Serpent." I started, and he nodded. "Well I'm kind of the Princess." He just stared at me in shock. "My last name is really Cooper, meaning my parents are Alice and Hal Cooper, Serpent King and Queen."
"And what! YOU'RE JUST USING ME FOR GHOULIE INFORMATION?!" He got up off the couch and started pacing around the lounge room.
"No Jug! I would NEVER!" I could feel the tears burning in my eyes. "I actually really like you!"
"Yeah right." He scoffed and rolled his eyes while looking away from me. I could feel the tears streaming down my face by this point.
"I wanted to tell you and be completely honest, hoping nothing would get between us, but I guess I was wrong. I should go." I hung my head down low, grabbed my stuff and headed for the door.
Jughead's P.O.V
She started to head for the door, so I grabbed her arm and turned her around. I could see the tears streaming down her beautiful face, and I had realised she wasn't lying to me.
"Please Betts, don't go. I really like you too, and I don't want you go."
"Are you sure you want me here?"
"Yes Betts, I'm sorry for shouting and reacting badly. I like you for you, not what gang you belong to." A smile appeared on her face, but quickly faded.
"But we're royalty to two different gangs. What are people going to think?"
"It doesn't matter right now. Let's just continue the movie." She nodded, and went to put her stuff back where it was before we got up. I sat on the couch and she sat next to me, snuggling into my chest while I stroked her hair, helping her relax.
"Hey Juggie."
"Yes Princess?" I chuckled, causing her to giggle, which is the most beautiful sound in the world.
"What are we?"
"I don't know, what do you want to be?" She turned her head away from the tv and looked up at me.
"Whatever you want to be."
"Well then, Elizabeth Cooper, would you like to be my girlfriend?"
"Yes Juggie!" She giggled, and we were gazing into each others eyes. Slowing we began to lean in, and I closed the gap between us, causing our lips to collide. We kissed for a bit, time stopped so I don't even know how long. We eventually pulled apart, and the taste of her strawberry lips lingered on mine. We cuddled up together and watched what was left of the movie, which seemed to be only 20 minutes.
"Hey Juggie, I'm quite tired, do you think I could spend the night here?" She was quite shy when she asked this, which brought a smirk to my face.
"Elizabeth Cooper, tired at 9:30?" She giggled a bit and looked up at my face again.
"What can I say, swimming really wears me out." I laughed at her comment.
"And yes Betts, you can stay the night. Wanna head to my room now?"
"Yes please." Although she wanted to be off the couch, it didn't look like she was willing to move from off the couch. I picked her up and wrapped her legs around my waist as she rested her head on my shoulder.
"Thank you Juggie." She said and smiled into the crook of my neck.
"No problem Princess." I heard her let out a little giggle as I laid her down on the bed. I laid down onto the bed next to her and wrapped my arms around her as I let her snuggle into me.
"Hey Betty." She looked up at me to say she was listening. "Why do you go by Smith?"
"Because if people knew my last name was Cooper, they would immediately know my parents are Alice and Hal. Especially at school, with you Ghoulies outnumbering us there." Her voice sounded almost like a soft whisper, and I could tell she was very tired. "Plus, Smith is my mothers maiden name, so it's not really lying, in a way." She giggled at the end, bringing a big smile to my face.
"And no Serpent jackets?"
"Also for safety, none of us wear our jackets to school, because we would be easily out-numbered. So we try to blend in as normal students, so other gangs, including you Ghoulies, don't know the names and faces of teenage Serpents."
"You wouldn't have to worry about us Ghoulies, Betts."
"Well not anymore Juggie." She paused for a while, like she was contemplating whether or not to say what's on her mind.
"What are you thinking about Betts?"
"I don't want to be rude, but is Jughead your real name?"
"As a matter of fact, no it is not. No-one knows my real name, besides my family. Not even Cheryl or Archie." She seemed a bit surprised by that.
"Well, are you willing to tell me your real name?"
"Since you told me your real name, I guess I am. It's Forsythe Pendleton Jones the Third." She giggled and looked up at me again.
"What a name." She giggled even more.
"Yep, why I go by Jughead."
"For the record, I like Forsythe."
"Well, you'd be the first, but thank you." I could hear Betty's cute, quiet little snores a little bit after, so I knew she was asleep.
"You're the one for me, Juliet." I whispered to myself, at least I thought because I felt her smile, and her whisper back to me,
"And you're the one for me, Romeo."
"You heard that?" I whispered to her shyly, and she giggled.
"Yep!" She giggled more then continued. "And I mean what I said."
"As do I. Goodnight Betts." I whispered to her, and she whispered back.
"Goodnight Juggie." Soon after I heard little snores coming from her again, and I knew she was for sure asleep again, so I pulled the cover up over us, kissed her on the head, and I quickly drifted to sleep myself with her in my arms.
