"I think we should play a little game of Truth or Dare. You know. Maybe it'll help get to know each other some more." he wiggled his eyebrows, and I had immediately felt terrified, but I couldn't back out as everyone had agreed to the game. We sat down together on the grass in a small circle, everyone was already hyped up for the game.
"Who do we start with?" Troy asked, but everyone's eyes quickly fell onto Raven. She had just ignored all the eyes and kept her relaxed state.
"Truth or dare, Ray?" Marcus asked, Raven licked her lips and had seemed to have already made up her mind.
"Dare."
"Hmm..." Marcus smirked, "Serenade the person to your right." With that, the whole group burst into a fit of giggles as Raven sighed, her dark eyes finding my own and I had suddenly felt super nervous. Fucking Marcus. Trying to make it more subtle by avoiding my name.
"You're all immature." she narrowed her eyes as she scanned our friends. Then her eyes went back to me.
"But you have to really sing it to her. Like... Alice, get closer." Marcus laughed.
"Don't push it Marc." I glared at him, he threw his hands in defence.
"Fine then, don't."
"Let's get this over with." Raven cleared her throat, looking into my eyes again, a tiny smirk played on her face as she saw how nervous I had become.
Then she started singing, and her voice was so incredibly beautiful.
"I was hanging with you and then I realised, I didn't think it was true I was surprised. When I found out I'd fallen for you. I didn't wanna believe my feelings for you I didn't wanna believe that I could lose you, if I told you just how I felt."
My heart was beating a thousand miles per hour, I didn't realise she could sing so well. Does this girl have any flaws?
"But I can't help it. I'm falling for you. And I can't quit it. 'Cause I'm stuck on you. And it might be pathetic and you might be sceptical but I just want to be with you. Please tell me, girl, can you get a clue or come through 'cause I just want to be with you. I'm scared. Of telling you how I feel. Maybe it's better if I just tried to conceal the truth."
She stopped there, smiling timidly at me. Okay. So she just so happened to sing one of my favourite songs. And she changed the original "please tell me, boy" lyric to "please tell me, girl."
Yeah, I'm ok. Just peachy.
"How was that..?" she whispered, loud enough for us all to hear, though I felt trapped once again and my heart couldn't handle her cuteness anymore.
"So cute I'm going to combust..." Rose was taken aback. So was I.
"You didn't tell us you were such an amazing singer?" Sam blabbered.
"Because I don't think I'm that great." she deadpanned.
"Are you crazy? You're amazing." I accidentally blurted out, Ashley's eyes darted towards me and she looked surprised, though she quickly flashed me a smile. "I- I mean.."
"Whipped!" Emily laughed.
"So cute!" Zen chuckled.
Raven's eyes were still glued onto me, and I felt slightly shaky, she either made me super comfortable or super nervous. And I'm pretty sure she knew that, especially as she always sent a teasing smirk to me whenever she could see I was clearly a nervous wreck. But now I was one, and she was just simply staring at me. She ran a hand through her beautiful brown hair and I felt my heart skip a beat. Her dark hair looks a lot lighter in the sun. I recalled, previously remembering her as the raven-haired girl.
