Chapter 13

*Liam's POV*

My eyes widened at the sight in front of me as I turned around and bolted back to where I left Louis and Maeve. I burst through the door to find them laying on the couch making out. I stared at them with my eyes still wide. I cleared my throat causing them to look up at me.

"While you guys are in here making out, the world is crumbling back into a vampire war." I said. Their eyes went wide and Maeve jumped off of Louis.

"Did you just say that the school crumbled?" She demanded getting right in my face. i pushed her small frame down and away from me.

"I went to go to school because you two were being really slow and i got to the property only to find rubble." I explained to them.

"That means the prophecy will be coming true soon." Maeve said. Louis looked confused. "It said A child of Cowell has a strange destiny. They will lead the war of Cowell and Higgins and will bring the downfall of her father." she recited. Louis' confused look turned scared.

"You mean we have to fight Harry?" he asked.

*Harry's POV*

I sat at a desk in my room at the Cowell House thinking about the war. I was just staring at the wall then a thought hit me. Who were the two that got in a fight? It couldn't have been Maeve, Liam, Harper, or Angie because I know where they all were. My eyes widened. Zayn and Niall. I pushed myself up from my chair and stormed next door.

"Harry hey-what happened?" Niall said standing up from the card game.

"Why? Who did you fight with?" I growled taking a fistful of his shirt and lifting him up. He looked terrified.

"I-I don't kn-know what you're ta-talking about." he stammered. I dropped his shirt and kicked him to the ground causing Zayn to come over to me.

"Harry, calm down mate. What's going on?" he said holding my arms down so I couldn't hurt him. I glared at him.

"Don't play dumb. Which Higgins did you fight with to cause the second Cowell-Higgins war?" I growled. Then he mimed saying "ohhh" and looked like he finally understood what was going on.

"I thought that was an Aiden vs. Cher fight? I saw Cher walking triumphantly back here looking like she killed an enemy." Zayn said. "Anyway Harry, you don't seem like much of a Cowell. We all love wars and battles but you don't. What's wrong with you?"

"If you had to live through watching your real blood family getting murdered in brutally violent ways while you knew that the only way you could join them was if the world went into chaos again, then you would hate it too.  

But this time I know I'll be seeing my family again because I'm the lead hunter. But now I don't want to die because I finally have something to live for someone I love, only I will never get her." I explained to them.

"Who?" Niall asked softly. I looked up at him my eyes glittering with tears.

"Maeve." I whispered before phasing into a forest where no one could find me.

*Maeve's POV*

"And the first war meeting of the Higgins has begun." Higgins' advisor Lou Teasdale said banging the mallet on the desk. "We need a battle strategy. Any ideas?" Olly raised his hand. "Yes Olly?"

"I say, we put Louis out as bait with one of our newer members, wait for a group of Cowells to show up before springing our stronger fighters to attack their forces." he explained his idea. Lou looked at all of the Higgins.

"All in favor for this approach?" she said. About 150 Higgins out of 200 raised their hands. Looks like Louis is gonna be bait.

*Louis' POV*

I look ridiculous. I'm dressed up in a giant meat costume a lot like Lady Gaga's. Why? I have no clue.

"Louis, it's time." Wagner said poking his head into the room. I followed him out and into a big clearing.
