Clarke had been in this damn station for hours and she was starving. They hadn't brought her anything to eat and only one cup of water. Her stomach was growling with a vengeance. If she asked for food though they would probably just ignore her. Neither Vale nor Mitchell had come back in not interrogate her since she'd first gotten here. She was starting to get annoyed with the waiting game. They were probably watching her behind that two-way mirror like creepy old perverts and that just made her even more pissed. When she saw the doorknob twist, she didn't know whether to be relieved or stressed. And then she knew the answer when Mitchell walked in.
"Knew I would see you in here again. Just couldn't stop killing could ya?" She knew not to dignify him with a response, but she couldn't help herself.
"I'd be lying if I said I was looking forward to seeing that ugly mug of yours." He just grunted in response while sitting across from her.
"Saw your boyfriend was in here. He still hasn't figured out just how sick you are yet."
"You know when I get out of here, I'm sorry to say I won't be coming back. I know that disappoints you."
"Your sharp quips won't get you out of here this time. Seems there is no magical alibi is there."
"I was at home, I already told you guys that."
"Not what your father says. He says he never saw you come in last night."
"He and you have something in common."
"And what is that?"
"You're both bastards and liars." She knew he got to him that time when his lip twitched to a frown.
"Oh, are you really a bastard then? What's a matter, you can dish it out but can't take it?"
"When I put you back in jail it will be the best day of my life."
"I hate to say it, but that's a little sad." Vale popped his head in the door and called Mitchell out.
"This isn't even your case anymore Mitchell. Stop harassing my suspect."
"Oh, so she is a suspect because last time I checked you seemed to think she was mighty innocent."
"Regardless of what I think, stop going in there or I'll report you, understand?" Mitchell just grunted and walked away like a child. Guys like that were exactly what was wrong with the police force. Gun-ho rookies who didn't actually do police work.
"Clarke you really need to stop coming in here."
"It's not exactly by choice. These detectives think I'm the one, even if I have an alibi every time."
"We have nothing on you and if we can get someone to confirm you were at home during the time of the murder, we can send you on your way."
"I'm working on it."
"I'll check back in in an hour."
