Jack was still feeling pretty shitty when he went home from school. Everything with Clarke was something he couldn't get out of his head. There was no way his feelings were one-sided. He wasn't assuming he was the best thing in the world, but the way she had kissed him with just as much intensity as he had, it couldn't be true. She liked him and if she said otherwise, she was lying, but that still didn't explain why any of this was happening. They had talked about her trying to keep him out of the investigation and she promised not to do that again. It had to be something else. Maybe he was imagining things. Maybe everything he thought he felt really was just from him. Maybe she really didn't like him at all. Maybe he was just being a douche and making her uncomfortable by claiming she was lying. He couldn't do all of this overthinking anymore. He was going to go over there and demand answers. She couldn't avoid him in her own home.

When he got there, he waited in his car for a good five minutes. Was this the right thing to do? He wanted to talk to her. Even if she yelled and screamed at him. He just wanted something from her. Anything. He didn't know what to expect as he opened his door. He slammed it shut and leaned against it for a moment trying to collect himself. He deserved this. They were friends before any of this had happened. He had been there every step of the way since she had gotten out of juvie. He walked up to the door and his hand froze. Why was he so nervous? He had to get over it. His fist slammed against the door and Clarke opened it with her eyes red and puffy. She had been crying.

"Clarke. What happened? Are you okay?" She was shocked that Jack was here, but deep down she was grateful. She pulled him in for a hug. Jack didn't know what was going on, but he wasn't one to argue as he held her firmly in his arms. Jack made her feel safe and considering someone had just broken into her house, she needed exactly that.

"You shouldn't be here." She hadn't let him go yet. She was only confusing him as she held onto him tightly.

"Are you okay?" He felt her nod her head into his chest. He was taller than her so her head laid softly on his chest.

"I'm okay, but you really shouldn't be here." She didn't want anything to happen to him and despite how glad she was that he was here, she knew the reality.

"That's why I came over here." He barged into the door, releasing her from his embrace. As soon as he let go, she felt cold. "I'm not leaving until I get some sort of explanation."

He walked up to her room, remembering where is was the past couple of times he had been here. Clarke tried to stop him, but he continued to barrel through, despite her protests. When he opened the door to her room he was greeted with a mess, but that wasn't what grabbed his attention first. On the floor were multiple photos of them together. Jack leaned down and picked one up, looking at it with confusion. Clarke stood by the doorway with a look of horror on her face.

"What are these?" He was picking up the other ones and looking at them with an unreadable expression. Clarke would pay anything to know what he was thinking right now.

"They were sent to me." He finally turned to her with a look of dread.

"Is this why you haven't been talking to me?" Clarke nodded as she walked over to her desk to retrieve the note. Jack read it for a moment with a look of disgust on his face. How could someone be so cruel?

"They sent to me in an envelope with the pictures. Some girl dropped it off, but before I could ask her who it was from, she was already gone." Jack put the note down on the desk and walked over to her before bringing his lips to hers. She didn't expect it, but as soon as his lips touched hers, she responded. She had missed him, no matter how much she hated to admit it. He had grown on her and wiggled his way into her heart. He leaned his forehead on hers and let out a long contented sigh. He moved back and looked into her eyes before giving her one more peck.
