over a month later, here's the next chapter :p love y'all ((also this is almost 5000 words))

"Why aren't we going back in?" Athena asked me as we walked around the courtyard with Sydney.

"Um," I say, trying to think of an answer. "Well, you see, lots of stuff is going on in there, and sense today we won't really be spoken to, your mom asked me to take you outside!" I explained, trying to make it sound exciting.

"But why?"

"Do you really wanna sit in a boring old courtroom for another three hours?" I say, slumping my shoulders as we walk.

"I guess not," Athena said, walking next to me, her hair blowing in the wind. "Will seemed really mad,"

I knew exactly what she was referencing. During a short intermission we all sat in the lobby talking, Naomi was kind of silent, already losing hope. Her hope was already fragile and I don't know much about court cases, I mean I dropped out of college, but it sounded as if the jury was eating up every last word Tim was saying.

Well, Will is usually a calm person. Unless you hurt the people he cared about. Naomi was usually the same way. Though, she was able to dial it down and control it. Will? Not as much. He was pacing, breathing heavily, his shoulders obviously tense. We decided it was for the best to not bring the girls back into the courtroom. You don't hurt the people Will cares about, he'll yell and punch the prick who was causing said people pain.

Athena and Artemis didn't need to see that.

Sydney tagged along because she wanted fresh air. Mason was told to come, but said he wanted to stay, he didn't know the whole story for a long time, and now he wanted to know all sides of the situation. I couldn't blame him. When I was younger and Bianca would come home crying, I would always want to know what happened, then who did it, then I'd want to know how Bianca had felt about that person so I knew how to react and how to help her, and what to think about it.

Knowing things, no matter how horrible, had helped me.

"Yeah," I laughed. "He really hates Tim," and Hades. Maybe he had a thing for not liking shitty-father's.

"Yeah," Artemis frowned. "Me too,"

Okay so you know that thing that pumps blood to keep you alive? Yeah. That just shattered into a million and ten pieces.. I remember having a dad I hated, and maybe they didn't even understand what hate was, or understand it fully anyway, but nonetheless, it had sucked.

And I was pretty decent with children. I liked them, sometimes if they didn't care for the dark clothing and freakishly pale skin and called me a vampire, they liked me, and we talked about cartoons and food. However, when it came to serious topics, I was really bad at reacting.

I just smiled sadly at her, even though she couldn't see me. Sydney clearly sensed my 'I suck at this' vibe and changed topic. "Come on, guys, I say we all sit down at that park over there and eat a snack, yeah?"

Artemis was more than happy to agree. "Yes!" she called out and Athena followed after her. Sydney and I then had to speed walk over to the park she had pointed to so we didn't have them too far in front of us incase of emergency.

You'd be surprised how much trouble those two could get themselves into with only two minutes of unsupervised time.

"Who wants the goldfish?" Sydney asked, sitting down on the bench on the park.

"I just wanna play!" Artemis yelled, already climbing the equipment.

"Okay," I laugh, then turn to Athena. "What about you?"
