"No"
"Yes"
"No"
"Yes"
"No"
Riley frowns, wanting to stay. "Yes"
"Riley, just put your damn shoes on"
"Calum" Luke hits the back of my head. "Dont swear in front of her"
I groan, knowing that I actually swear when she's listening. I bent down to her level, putting both hands on her shoulders, forcing her to look at me. "Riley, sweetie, will you please do as dad tells you to"
She cross her arms. "No"
I sigh once again, standing up. "Will someone adopt her?"
She have been moody all night, fighting over the most stupid things and just mainly annoying the shit out of me.
Jasmine chuckles, placing herself next to Riley, whispering something in her hair. Riley smiles before bumping down in her lap, allowing Jasmine to put them on.
"How?" I rub my temples, even more annoyed than before.
"Just take a deep breath, Cal" Jasmine stands up with Riley on her hip. "I'm sure she's just tired"
"But she listens to you"
"You're also tired, Cal" she hands me Riley. "So everything she does probably annoys you"
I sigh when Riley's little hand crash against my face. "Riley, there's no need in hitting me"
She ignores me, putting her head on my shoulder while studying my friends.
"Well, sorry for my moody little daughter" I say, grabbing Riley's jacket in my free hand.
"Just wait until she's 15" Jasmine leans herself against Michael's chest, and he protectively slips his arms around her.
"Can't wait" I look down at Riley, she's already half asleep in my arms. "Now, thanks for tonight. It was great, guys"
"Anytime, Cal" Michael smiles.
"I'll talk to you guys tomorrow" I softly smile, telling them bye before I walk out the door and towards my car.

By the time we arrive at home, she's almost 11:30, which means almost midnight. It's been a long and rough day in Riley's life, she's used to go to sleep by eight, or half past eight sometimes.
The worst part now is that I have to wake her up. I need to help her on with her pyjama, and brush her teeth and clean up her messy face.
"Riley" I mumble, stroking her hair with my hand. "C'mon, baby, you gotta wake up"
I feel horrible for waking her up, but it's a must.
She manages to open up her blue eyes, staring at my face with a confused expression.
"C'mon, let's go and brush your teeth"
And so the nightmare begins again. The first Riley does when I put her down on the closed toilet is to start crying. The tears are streaming like crazy, and her sobs are loud.
I'm trying to help her brush her teeth, but all she does is screaming, kicking with her little legs.
"C'mon, Ri, let's just make this quickly and then you can go to sleep again" I beg, once again trying to start with her teeth again.
"No!" She cries out, sobbing harder for every minute. I put the toothbrush away, pulling her into my lap even though she's protesting about it.
"Let's put on your pyjama then, huh?" I force her off her t-shirt, even though she's screaming and fighting the whole time. "Riley, stop"
She doesn't stop. All she does is to keep crying. A lot...
I turn her around in my lap, so she's facing me, letting one thumb stroke away some of her many tears. "Baby, stop crying"
"I don't wanna brush my teeth" she sobs, barely even able to see through all the tears.
"You don't have to, okay?" I say, slowly bumping her up and down in my arms, trying to calm her down. "Let's put on your pyjama and go to sleep"
That calms her down and a little, and she manages to nob between her hickups. I'm helping her to put on her pyjama, grabbing a towel to trying to fix the mess around her mouth. She's too tired to scream right now, but the tears are still rolling their way down her flushed cheeks.
"C'mon, Ri" I mumble, standing up with her in my arms. She puts her head on my shoulder, snuggling her face deep down in the crock of my neck. Normally I find that incredible adorable, but I'm too tired today.
I walk into her room, putting her into bed along with Flapoodle. She grabs the stuffed animal with closed eyes, pressing it against her chest. I softly smile, tucking her in before kissing her forehead. "Night, Ri"
I slowly back towards the door, turning the lights off. When I'm about to walk outside, I can hear a small sob again. "Daddy?"
"What is it, Riley?" I sigh, rubbing over my forehead.
"Daddy, can you sleep with me?" She mumbles.
"Just for a while then" I make my way towards her bed, pushing her a bit to the side so I can crawl down. She makes her way towards me again, crawling up on my chest. I put my arms around her little body, hugging her. "Schh, baby, don't cry"
"Are you still mad at me?" Her question drowns in her sobs, but I manage to hear her anyway.
"Of course not, Riley" I say, feeling a bit bad for snapping at her more than once today. "Daddy's just a bit tired"
"I don't want to stay at Michael and Jasmines house" she sobs again, pressing her face against my t-shirt. "I want to be with you, daddy"
Her words breaks my heart, and I stroke her over her back, trying to calm her down. "Hey, baby, it's okay"
I try to sit up a bit, scoping her up. She puts her arms around my shoulders, hiding her face in my neck just like she always does when crying or when she's sad.
"Riley, it's okay. Stop crying" I mumble. "I'm not mad at you"
I pat her back, realising with a satisfied smile that she's starting to calm down. I sit like that for a while, just with her in my arms. She's way too tired, falling asleep late a whole week is not something I recommend for a three year old.
"C'mon, honey" I mumble, grabbing Flapoodle in one hand before standing up with Riley in one arm. "Let's go to bed, yeah?"
I walk towards my room, putting her down in my bed. She let's out something that I can only describe as a combination between a whine and a sob. Riley crawls towards my pillow, her head falling down on it with closed eyes and Flapoodle in her arms.
I quickly strip off until I'm in my boxers, laying down next to her. She's already half asleep, but she does manage to crawl just a bit closer to me. I stroke her salted cheeks, trying to wipe away some of her last tears. "Calm down now, Riley. It's time to sleep"
