For once, I'm not waking up by Riley climbing up on me. No, this time I'm waking up all by myself.

I turn my head to the side, noticing that Riley's still passed out next to me. I stand up with a groan, putting on a pair of sweatpants before making my way towards the kitchen. I yawn, scratching my bare back while looking at my phone.

10am. Woah.. I don't think I've slept this long since Riley was born, which is three years ago. I arrive in the kitchen, putting my phone down on the table the same second as I realise that I probably should wake up Riley. Or else she won't fall asleep tonight, and since it's Sunday, I'm having her tonight.

I put on some coffee, letting it heat up before I walk towards my bedroom again. I lay down, dragging Riley up in my arms, placing kisses all over her sleepy face. "C'mon, baby girl, time to wake up"

"No" she whines, trying to push herself away from me.

"Yes, c'mon, it's time for breakfast" I say, standing up with the struggling little girl in my arms.

"Daddy" she whines, smashing her hand against my forehead. "No"

"What do you want for breakfast?"

"Ice cream" she says, sounding satisfied with her choice.

"No way, choose something else" I laugh, putting her down on her chair by the table.

"Ice cream" she repeats her words, this time demanding me to give her ice cre. No way, though. I'm the dad, which means I'm in charge.

"Do you want us to call grandma and grandpa?" I ask, trying to change the subject away from ice cream. My parents will have her for a week next month, and we've planned it for about forever now. Just Monday to Friday, I'll pick her up first thing Saturday morning. It will be the longest she have been away from me since she was born, and I'm a bit nervous. My parents only live 20 minutes away from me if you drive and there's no traffic, but it's still five days without my little girl.

"Yes!" She smiles huge, her blue eyes following me as I grab my phone.

I dial the number, putting it on speaker before leaving it on the counter again.

"Hello?" That be my mom. "Cal?"

"GRANDMA" Riley screams, clapping her hands together.

"Riley" mom laughs. "Hello, sweetie. Did you steal dad's phone again?"

It have happened a few times that Riley have stolen my phone and called a few people..

"Daddy's here" she says, looking up at me.

"Hi, mom" I say, shaking my head with a smile towards Riley.

"Hi, honey, how are you?"

"I'm fine, we both are" I say, turning around to search for something to eat. Yesterday, Riley chose a nee packet of cereals, so I guess I'll just make is a bowl each.

"Riley's fine" Riley says, leaning her cheeks in her little hands.

"That's good, Riley" mom lets our another laugh. "What are you doing, huh? Have you watched spongebob yet?"

"We actually just woke up" I admit,

"Really? Is she getting sick or something" the only days Riley actually sleep somehow longer, is the days when she's sick.

"No, she's fine" I say, putting down a bowl with milk and the new cereals in front of her. "She's been up quite late this week, that's why"

"Calum, you need to make sure that she's going to bed at a proper time!" mom sighs.

"But mom, it's not that easy when I'm not the one putting her to bed"

"You're her father, you might not be there to put her to bed, but you can make sure that whoever babysits her will make sure she's in bed when she should be"

"She's just fine, mom, you don't have to worry" I assure her while picking up the phone, moving it away from Riley's fingers who's currently drained in milk. "I know how to be a dad"

"I sure hope you do, a three year old need sleep"

"Well, that's why we slept for so long today"

"Grandmaaaaaaa" Riley sings. "Will you buy me a puppy?"

"Riley, I've said no" I groan, annoyed with her for bringing it up again.

"Don't snap at the poor thing" mom says.

"I akways regret open my mouth whenever we call you, mom. Because everything I do seems to be wrong when it comes to her"

"Oh c'mon, don't be so dramatic" she sighs. "You know I'm just trying to help you so you can raise her in best way possible"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever" I wave it away, looking at the clock. "I gotta go now, mom. I promised Luke to come over to his place today. Chloe's gone and he wants some company"

"Well, okay. I love you" she says. "And I love you too, Riley! Grandma will talk to you another day, yeah?"

"Say bye to grandma, Ri" I say, lifting her up in my arms.

"Bye, grandmaaaaa" she sings, giggling loudly while placing her head on my shoulder.

"Bye" I repeat her words, before we hang up. I look at Riley. "You could need a quick bath before we leave"

"Riley" Luke smiles, catching her in his arms. "How pretty aren't you today, huh?"

She's wearing a dress with lots of flowers on, and I helped her to put her up in two small tassels.

"Pretty" she repeats the word, nodding.

"Yes, very pretty" Luke laughs, before turning his eyes to me. "Well, daddy, you look like quite a princess as well"

"Ha ha" I mutter, making my way inside. I'm wearing sunglasses, black skinny jeans and a grey t-shirt.

"Daddy's a princess?" she look over at Luke with huge eyes.

Luke nods. "Yes he is, Ri. He's the prettiest princess of all the princesses"

She squeals, giggling in Luke's arm.

"So, who's ready for a disney marathon?" I ask, sitting down at the couch. Since we need to entertain Riley, we're gonna watch loads of disney movies until she falls asleep and we finally van have a proper talk. But who am I kidding though? I'll enjoy this marathon just as much as Riley will, and Luke as well, probably.

"I thought we could start with Frozen" Luke says, putting Riley down in my lap before benting down to the computer. It's connected to the TV, so whatever happens on the computer screen also happens on the TV.

"FROZEN!" Riley squeals, clapping her small hands together. She turns around in my lap, her blue, excited eyes facing me. "Daddy, we're gonna watch frozen!"
