I woke up by 5:54 am, like any other usual morning by something, or rather someone, climbing on top of me.

"Daddy" Riley's light voice fills my ears. "Daddy I don't know how to turn the tv on"

With a grown, I softly push her off me, catching her in my arms and snuggling my nose into her brown hair, making her giggle.

"Daddy, stop it" she squeals, hiding her face in her small hands like it would help her.

Every morning, it's the same. Riley wakes me up, whining about the fact that she can't turn on the tv. At 6 every morning her favourite tv shows starts - SpongeBob.

"Daddy I can't turn on the tv" she repeats after her laughter have calmed down.

"Maybe you should just stay here with daddy then?" I ask, already half asleep again. "We can spend our whole day sleeping, doesn't that sound fun?"

Michael and his fiancé Jasmine had Riley last night, which gave me a chance to take a deep breath. I went out with Ashton, since he's my only friend who's single, to eat something other than mac n' cheese and hello kitty cupcakes with pink frosting on. I got home late, picking up Riley on my way back to the apartment. I'm tired, and I really just want to sleep longer than 5:54 for just once.

"No" she says, slamming one of her tiny hands on my face. "C'mon daddy"

"Why don't you go and get Flapoodle first, and then, when the two of you are ready, I'll help you?" I ask, finally releasing her.

"Okay" she nods, climbing down from the bed before her little legs sprint towards her room.

Flapoodle is her stuffed monkey. She was one when I bought it for her, and she have called it Flapoodle ever since.. She can't sleep without it though, it's her best friend, well, right after me.

I'm actually her best friend, and she's mine. We spend every day together, just me and her. I do have a job, of course. It's downtown, on a little coffee house also known as Starbucks. Cliché, I know, I know, but at least it gives me the money I need to feed Riley. She's spending every night, except from the weekend, at either one of my friends place. I drop her off around 7 pm, and then I pick her up on my way home around mostly 12 pm or 1 am.

No one complains though. My friends loves to help, mostly because Riley is adorable. You can't say no to that face, impossible. Besides, both Luke's and Michael's girlfriends loves to take care of her, cooking dinner for her and making her ready for bed.

"Daddy!" Riley's scream interrupts my thoughts. "Daddy we're waiting"

I stand up, putting on a pair of sweatpants before making my way towards the tv, turning it on for her. I kiss her on the top of her head as I walk past her towards the kitchen, thinking about what to make us for breakfast this morning.

Riley loves cereals and milk, so I make us a a bowl each, before walking towards where she is. I place the bowl in her lap, giving her a spoon before I place myself next to her. She stares with big, tired eyes on the tv, too concentrated to even notice the bowl with cereals.

"Hey, Ri" I say, trying to get her attention. "Eat your breakfast"

She slowly starts to eat, her eyes never leaving the tv screen.

This is how all of our morning starts. Some people would maybe find it boring and exhausting, but since I get to spend all those exhausting mornings with Riley, they don't seem to be that boring.

So basically first chapter is a bit of a boring filler. I just want you to know a bit about Riley and Calum, not too much though but yeah.

Enjoy
