Chapter 7: Crush

"DRE? Ayos ka lang?"

"DRE!"

I felt my eardrums broke after hearing her shout at me like that. Tinitigan ko siya nang masama at nagpatuloy na lang sa pagkain.

"Kanina pa kita tinatawag diyan, hindi ka naman nagsasalita! Kanina ka pa lutang na lutang, ah? Ano bang nangyari, dre?"

"Nothing..."

She slammed her hand on the table which made a loud noise, making the students eating in the cafeteria looked at this way. I almost jump on my seat.

She's quite making a scene! I can't believe this woman.

"Don't even lie to me! I wouldn't even ask you if I know something's not wrong. Sabihin mo, what's probably bothering you?"

"Tone down your voice, Giane. We're in a crowded place. Pinagtitinginan na tayo ng mga estudyante, oh!" bulong ko.

"Wala akong pakialam sa kanila. All I care here is about you."

Mabuti na lang at tapos na siyang kumain. I still haven't finished my food but I'm already full kaya agad kong hinila si Giane sa labas ng cafeteria. I brought her near the fountain at pinaupo sa isa sa mga benches.

"Why did you brought me here?!"

"You're obviously making a scene."

"Whatever! Now that you brought me here, tell me the truth. What was really bothering you, dre?" Her face softened as she tried to ask me.

Napabuntong-hininga na lamang ako. Guess I have to tell her the real reason behind this problematic face of mine.

"You see, I have a really big problem. And I don't know what to do anymore!" problemadong saad ko.

"Ano ba kasing problema mo, dre?"

"I know you'll hate me for this but..." Naupo ako sa tabi niya at nagsalita, "because I want Garreth and Demi to break up, I agreed on a deal with someone. He said that he'll help me gain Garreth back."

"What?! Are you crazy, dre?!"

"But believe me, nagsisisi ako na pumayag talaga ako sa deal na 'yon. I promised Garreth that I will let him go. That I won't meddle with his happiness anymore. But I just can't help seeing him happy in the arms of someone else! Ako dapat 'yon, eh! Ako dapat 'yung nagpapasaya sa kanya! Ako dapat 'yung kasama niya sa tabi niya, eh!"

She caressed my back as I started to cry. She tried to hush me but I just can't stop myself from crying so hard.

"I know how you feel but it's still wrong. Kung ayaw niya na sayo, dre, hindi mo siya mapipilit na magustuhan ka ulit."

"I... I know. But it's too late. I already made a deal with someone. And nakita niya ako sa unang klase. Nawala sa isip ko na pwede ko siyang makasama sa isang klase."

"You met Garreth, dre? What did he said?! Did he got mad at you?!"

"Hindi..."

"Then what?"
