{Eight days later...}

{Kaneki's POV}

It had been eight days, and Y/n still hadn't come back.
Me, Yoshimura and all of the Anteiku staff were worried about her.
I kept praying and hoping that she'd come back.
Where was she anyway?
Why did she leave?
Was it us?
Was it... Me?

I didn't know right now, but I was determined to find out.
At the moment, me and the Anteiku staff were sat down in the closed coffee shop, watching the news...

News Reporter:
A SSS rated half ghoul, g/n has gotten captured by six CCG investigators, and sent to cochlea, where they will execute her. The CCG claimed that they have been trying to track down the powerful ghoul for years, but they haven't had much luck. Now, she is in Cochlea, still out of control. When they found the rare half ghoul, she was screaming and her kagune was out of control, as was she. Before executing her, she will have a few tests run on her to find out why she is acting like this...

We were all shocked. Y/n!? Captured!? About to get executed!?
"Kaneki, what shall we do!?" Touka shouted, looking up at me.
I quickly stood up and said, "I'm going to rescue her."
"Ken, it's too dangerous. Don't risk it." Yoshimura said, standing up as well.

"I'm sorry, sir. I need to save her." I said, walking towards the door.
"Kaneki!!" I heard Nishiki and Touka shout in a worried tone.
I ignored their pleads and opened the door, going to my apartment to get ready to rescue Y/n.

I hope your okay. Please say your still alive... I thought, running a hand through my white locks.

After getting ready and arriving at the CCG headquarters, I waited for a good opportunity to go into Cochlea unnoticed.
I snapped my head back to the front when I heard Cochlea opening and various voices.
I gasped and hid behind  a wall as three CCG investigators walked past.

After they were out of sight, I peeked out from the wall and looked around.
It looked like Cochlea was empty.
This is my chance...! I thought, placing my mask on and running into Cochlea before it closed.
After it closed, I sighed and looked around.
There were so many cells...

That's when I overheard two CCG investigators talking.
I hid behind a open door and listened to what they were saying...

"Where is she?"
"Who, sir?"
"Who do you think!? G/n of course!"
"A-ah! Sorry, sir...!"

My eyes widened. G/n was what the CCG called Y/n, like what they do to every ghoul because they don't know their first name.
I carried on listening, in order to find out what cell number she was in.

"... What cell is she in? And what prisoner is she?"
"She is in cell number four, and she is prisoner one hundred."
"I see... Thank you."
"Sir, what are you planning to do?"
"Why do you want to know...?"
"So I can help you!"
"Okay... I'm going to give her food, and fill out her case files before her execution. I could do with some help for the case files though..."
"Hai!"
"Good... Let's go, quickly."

After the two CCG investigators left, and Cochlea closed once again, I went on a hunt for cell number four.
I stopped in my tracks as I heard an agonising scream and cry.

Was it Y/n...?
If so, she sounded like she was in pain,  and wanting to be let free.

I ran over to the cell and attempted to get it unlocked...
