I screamed at the top of my lungs, but soon felt someone cradle me in their lap. I was crying hysterically but there was someone holding me tight, running their hands through my hair, whispering soothing words into my ear. My body was soaked with sweat and tears and I didn't know where I was. I looked up and saw a familiar pair of brown eyes staring down at me, his ruffled hair sticking up, and his eyebrows raised with worry and confusion. Until now, I couldn't comprehend what the man above me was saying.

"Shhh...it's okay, Meryl. It was just a dream, breathe." He repeated over and over again, gently rocking me back and forth in his lap. Soon I calmed down and rested my head on his shoulder, he kissed my forehead, still whispering those words. After I had completely stopped crying, I climbed out of his lap and looked around the room. I was in someone's bedroom and Maks was here with me, he watched me, obviously confused about my confusion. "Meryl? Are you alright?" I jumped slightly as the sound of his voice travelled to my ears and I found a picture of Maks and I at the lake.

"Why are we in Michigan?" I asked, thinking that we should be in Los Angeles.

"Because we live in Michigan?" Maks looked at me like I had three heads.

"What do you mean 'we'?" I looked around the room once more, noticing multiple pictures of a child with Maks and I.

"Meryl, we're married and have a three year old boy and we're soon to have a baby girl." He pointed to my stomach and I looked down. It looked like I had stuffed a pillow or blanket in my shirt, but then I felt something move inside me. Looking up at Maks, I formed an 'o' shape with my mouth. "Come here." Maks reached for my hands and pulled me into his lap again. "What did you have a dream about that made you cry so much?" I rested my head under his chin as I began to tell the story.

"And then you said that you loved me and I for-"Maks put his hand over my mouth, interrupting me.

"Did that L.A. trip end with you crying into my shoulder because you were going to miss me?" I nodded and Maks uncovered my mouth, sighing. "Baby that was the day I asked you to marry me. That was the day I told you I would never leave you, no matter what it cost me. That was the day that I told you that I would do anything for you, even if you wanted all of my money." Maks laughed. "That's also the day that I told you that you were sometimes a pain in the ass but I loved you anyways." I giggled quietly and Maks lied us down on the bed, covering us both up. "Now, can we go to sleep?" I nodded but we heard tiny footsteps coming towards the bedroom door. The door slowly opened as Maks and I pretended to sleep.

"Mommy? Daddy? Are you awake?" Our son, Alexsandr, tip toed to my side of the bed and he gently tapped my nose. "Mommy? Please wake up, I'm scared." I could hear Alex's voice start to shake so I opened my eyes to see a little boy in tractor pajama's standing a couple of inches away from my face. "Can I sleep with you and Daddy? I heard a scream and it scared me." I nodded and he climbed over me and next to Maks. "Goodnight momma. I'm sorry you had a bad dream, I will fight off the monsters if they come again. I wouldn't want you and sissy to get hurt." I smiled and turned over, wrapping him in my arms.

"Thank you, Alex." I grinned, watching Maks watch us.

I had the cutest little boy, a baby girl on the way, and the best husband I could ever ask for.

Life was perfect.
