Chapter Thirteen

"Ethan," I laughed as he chased me around the kitchen. Luke was called into the office as he's had a few days off and he has to make sure his business isn't going downhill while he was away.

"Come here," he laughed at me, his vans slamming against the floor as he ran. Giggles and laughs flooded the modern kitchen as quiet music played through the house speakers. My hands hit the floor as I turned into the living room tripping up over my own feet. Grunts left my mouth as a body collided on top of me letting me know Ethan also tripped up.

He pushed himself up, straightening his arms so he was hovering above me, letting me turn on to my back looking up at him. His emerald eyes shone and gleamed in the sunlight peering in through the open curtains. His dyed red hair flopped over his face covering his left eye as he stared down at me.

"This isn't right." I muttered out but not moving from under him.

"It isn't." He agreed but also not moving from his position.

"We should stop," I breathed out making him sigh and finally push himself off me, sitting next to me and resting his head on his hands looking down at me. I lay there not moving but breathing just as heavily as I was when he was on top of me. His lips shone as he licked them trying to figure out what to say leaving awkwardness in the air.

"I'm sorry," I finally said, breaking the thick tension in the air and pushing myself up, pulling my jumper down to cover myself. I threw my dark hair into a messy bun, pulling some stray pieces out and letting them fall and frame my face.

"It was me, not you. I shouldn't of stayed on top," Ethan blurted out making me shake my head

"I'm on about high school. I knew you loved me, it was pretty obvious but I still pushed you down and picked on you. I was horrible." He nodded slightly making me look away from his face. "If it helps, if I weren't taken I would be with you,"

"That doesn't help, because you're not taken," he snapped slightly "which is why I shouldn't feel bad about doing this." He whispered grabbing my face and pulling me towards him.

His lips gently touched mine, giving me a feeling luke has never given me. The kiss was full off love, want, need. Everything I was craving to have off Luke. His hand held the back of my head slightly sneaking under my bun as I moved closer to him. Legs wrapped round hips as I moved onto his lap, my own hands linking through his hair.

"This is so wrong," I muttered breaking away from his kiss but not moving from my spot.

"You loved it,"

But did I? Or did I love the feeling it was giving me?

Mulan was playing on the television as I glanced down at my phone smiling at the messages I was getting off Ethan. After our kiss I told him he had to leave, since my mind was running 900 miles per hour and I needed time to think. Luke makes me happy but Ethan makes me feel loved. I'm a person to Ethan not like an employee.

"Do you have something you want to tell me!" Luke shouted coming through the front door making me jump and drop my phone on the sofa.

"What?" I asked turning around seeing a red faced Luke behind me.

"You kissed Ethan Nicky!" He shouted throwing a punch to the wall closest to him making me instantly stand up

"What are you on about?"

"I have cameras in the house Nicky! I saw it all happen. God you didn't even fight him off you turned into putty in his hands. You kissed him back!"

"You were spying on me?" I asked calmly walking towards him.

"I'm wealthy Nicky people try to rob me I did it for my own protection," he said walking towards me, meeting me halfway. "But what I didn't expect to see when looking at the security tapes at my office, was my maid kissing my best friends fiancée brother!"

"Maid?" I questioned my heart breaking slightly.

"Yes Nicky maid, did you forget I hired you to clean my house? You are just my employee and that's all you'll ever be to me," he snapped making me step back.

"I'm only your maid to you," I scoffed making him laugh.

"Not anymore. I told you one more thing and you're out. One more. This is that one thing. I want you out my house, out my life. This is why I don't fucking love. All women want off me is my money!" He snapped.

"You're firing me!" I shouted making him laugh

"You get one last pay check, I want you out by the end of the week. You have four days," he said calmly before turning on his heels leaving me standing in the same spot with tear tracks forming on my cheeks. Tiny droplets fell from my cheeks onto the carpet beneath me making my hands quickly move to wipe my cheeks stopping the water.

I was done. No feelings were in Luke for me. I was a nobody to him. The times we fucked, the whispers, the muttering, the touching. They all meant nothing to the wealthiest guy in California. I was a meaningless fuck to him. Like all his other maids, Luke Hemmings doesn't feel. Luke Hemmings don't care about other people. I was a nobody, I meant nothing.

But to me Luke meant everything. He was my world. The times we fucked, the whispers, the muttering, the touching. They all meant everything to the struggling with money me in California. He was more then a meaningless fuck to me. He weren't like all the other guys, he understood me in more ways anyone else did. He didn't use me for my looks, he liked my personality. He didn't care I was moneyless he just helped out. To me he was everything. Everything. But now it was all over.
