Samus's P.O.V
Just like the first morning, I went to the training room to see if Pikachu was up yet. While he was training there more surprisingly was Ness was also there training separately. I didn't expect them to be training together, I knew they didn't like each other I noticed yesterday it wasn't like it was hard to notice but it just surprised since it seemed like they'd get along.
"You're up early for someone who trained late last night," I said approaching him as Ness looked back at me.
"More like me just being kicked around by Fox" Ness responded as Pikachu noticed us and made his way over to me.
"Are you nervous about your first match?" I asked while Pikachu climbed up on my shoulder
"Not really what does make me nervous is if I beat Jigglypuff I'll probably go against Fox next round"
"Take one problem at a time focus on your first match right now, just don't miss it from training too much," I told him as I set down Pikachu to let him get back to training and walked out the training room
Soon before matches started I walked into the spectator's room and saw Ness sitting there waiting for the first match too
"Who's Pikachu going against first today?" I asked Ness as I took a seat beside him
"I think Kirby"
"That's gonna be an interesting match"
"I still think Pikachu will win maybe Kirby will put up a bigger challenge though" He responded
Immediately after the match started Kirby fought aggressively making Pikachu play defensively but Pikachu still managed to find openings in Kirby's attacks and before long Kirby lost his first stock.
Once Kirby came back on his second stock the first thing he had done was inhale Pikachu and used his copy ability then played aggressively again while Pikachu tried to play defensively Kirby put in too much pressure with his added lightning move and Pikachu's shield broke leaving him dazed and confused and Kirby gave a huge kick to him which sent him to the blast zone.
With both of them being equal and still having a stock to spare they both started to play aggressively with Pikachu getting an edge over Kirby sending him upwards with his tail and summoning lightning above him to send Kirby upwards taking his second stock.
After Kirby teleported back on his last stock both Kirby and Pikachu played defensively since Pikachu wanted to keep the lead and Kirby wanted to stay on his last stock as long as possible. Both tried to bait each other or even find a small opening with Kirby eventually starting a chain of kicks and ending it with turning into stone and falling on Pikachu taking his second stock.
With both on their last stock, Kirby played aggressively trying to take Pikachu by surprise and put him in a chain of kicks again. Pikachu quickly got out looking as if he almost warped out of it and Kirby was left open and Pikachu quickly capitalized putting Kirby in his own chain of hits from his tail with the last hit being a jolt of electricity released from his cheeks and sending him off to the blast zone making Pikachu the first winner in the second round.
"Guess that means Pikachu's into the semifinals" I heard Ness say
"Guess so, It also means my match starts soon I should get my suit I'll see you after the match"
"Good luck"
"Thanks," I said as I walked out of the spectator's room
As I entered the stage I got ready to see who I was up against I then saw a light shine down and Link descends from it to enter the stage.
Once the match started the first thing I did was charge my shot up while he pulled out a bomb and we both rushed in. He threw his bomb and immediately pulled out another throughout the match he always had a bomb ready to throw I rushed again and rammed into him with my shoulder pushing him and shot the beam towards him throwing him off stage. As he got back on I took the opportunity to charge my shot again but he threw a boomerang at me while I was charging the shot catching me off guard and caught me in a combination of bombs and sword slashes ending it with a huge sword swing sending me upwards.
On my second stock, I played aggressively knowing he was close to losing his first stock too and he dodged and retaliated with a much shorter chain of slashes but as soon as I was out I grabbed him with my grapple beam threw him forward and chained him with a less charged shot into a hit from my cannon arm and sent him into the blast zone.
As he teleported back I made sure to put space between us which he took advantage of by throwing boomerangs and bombs until he rushed in and gave a big slash at me. But it was just less than needed to send me to the blast zone. After I recovered back I gave him a second to leave an opening and then I started a long chain of kicks and shots that all led to blasts overhead of me to him sending him flying up giving me the lead this time.
Teleporting back he knew I was close to losing my second stock so he attacked with his sword aggressively but he left huge openings where I capitalized and put in small kicks and shots whenever I could until he landed a swing and I was put on my last stock.
While we were both on our last stock I knew it would take a crazy turn around for him to have a chance of winning so I worked on just putting some damage on him to set up a knockout but in between it he grabbed me with his hookshot and threw me off stage and he quickly jumped above me and pushed his sword under himself hitting me and pushing me directly down and with no chance of me or (even Link) recovering I hit the blast zone first and Link had won the match
Soon after we were both put back on stage.
"Good match but how'd you do that?" I asked him taking off my helmet
"I don't know either actually it just felt right to do something like that"
"Well it was a fun match either way," I said as I put my hand out for a handshake
"Yeah, Good match," He said as he took the handshake
{AN: 1136 words, I was originally gonna make the second round one chapter on its own but jeez this got long fast}
