Super Smash Bros. Through Every Game (Nesscas)

Melee's First Round 2/2

(DISCLAIMER: THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR LEGEND OF ZELDA OCARINA OF TIME. but this game is over 20 years old so you probably know about it already)

Ness' P.O.V.

"Popo, Come on, we have to get to our match!" I heard Nana yell as I was heading back.

"Ok, ok, I'm coming," Popo responded grabbing his hammer and they both left before I even sat back down.

I sat back down in my seat to start watching their match and saw both of them get on stage with Captain Falcon.

"They both get to fight? Won't it be unfair?" I asked.

"Probably not, If anything they'll probably argue the whole match," Young Link said.

"Well, I'll at least cheer them on" I responded

As the match went on I started to realize, it wasn't fair. Popo fought aggressively but if he ever missed a hit, Nana would just cover for him so Captain Falcon rarely got to hit either of them. Yet it wasn't one-sided, at one point Captain Falcon launched Nana into the blast zone leaving Popo alone. After that, the way Popo fought was like Pichu, still aggressive but reckless. Other than that, Nana and Popo won fairly easily. It actually surprised me I could tell young Link was surprised too

I saw them both come back to the spectators' room both looking happy from their win.

"Hey, great job on y'alls win," I told them 

"For how much both of you argue, you two work really well together." Young Link added

"What, did you expect us to lose?" Popo asked smugly

"Yes." Young Link responded blankly

After that Popo went from smug to upset almost immediately and proceeded to sit back down annoyed while Nana chuckled at the situation.

"Ness? Isn't your match next?" Nana asked

"It is?" I said as I pulled out my paper to check, only to see she was right. I got up as quickly as I could and headed to the stage hearing Nana yell "Good luck!" as I left the room.

Samus's P.O.V.

"Oh hey look Ness's match is up next," I said trying to get either Pichu or Pikachu to look up. Neither did.

I didn't think my first day of the tournament would be spent consoling two electric mice maybe Pichu, but definitely not Pikachu too.

"Fox a little help? They're your friends too" I asked

"What do you want me to say? I'm not the one who has him on my shoulders half the time" 

"Gee thanks" 

before the tournament, I was so excited to see everyone just like the first one. I just didn't expect it to go like this.

"Perhaps I could help?" 

I turned around to see Zelda staring back at me.

"Sure, go ahead" I responded

She got up and sat in the seat next to Pichu.

"There, there," she said in a comforting tone while petting Pichu. "You don't need to win to enjoy the tournament. Isn't it already amazing to see everyone here?" Pichu looked up at her and gave a faint smile. "Look Ness just won his match. He's your friend, right? Why don't you go congratulate him when he gets back?" Zelda said

"Pi!" Pichu exclaimed while nodding his head as she got up and ran to the entrance expecting

I got up from my seat to go talk to her. "Woah, are you like one of those princesses that are like one with nature?" I asked jokingly

She giggled "You don't have to be a princess to know how to comfort someone."

I looked over to see Ness enter the spectators' room only to have Pichu immediately climb up his shoulder. It's amazing how good Pichu and Pikachu are at climbing up to someone's shoulder whether invited or not. I then saw Ness' mouth "Looks like you cheered up."  

After that, he went back with the Ice climbers and younger link he had been with before but this time with Pichu on his shoulder. It seems like he had found a new group. I was happy for him

"Hey, Zeld-" I looked over to Pikachu expecting to see Zelda there too. Instead, Pikachu was alone sat up watching the next match.

I looked over to the match while taking my seat and saw Zelda on stage against Mario. As soon as the match started Zelda became engulfed in magic sparkles and as they cleared Sheik was revealed.

"Is she even allowed to do that?" Falco asked

"Well, Zelda got the invitation that technically is still Zelda" Link answered

"Why? you afraid of losing to a girl Falco?" I remarked

I heard Pikachu laugh, I put my arm out to invite him up to my shoulder.

"Pfft as if, I'd win no matter what colorful outfit she has on." He answered as Pikachu climbed up my arm onto my shoulder

Looking back at the match we saw Sheik begin to dominate the match most of the time Mario was either juggled in the air or rushed down so he never could catch a break. Even offstage Sheik simply jumped after him giving him no chance to get back and Sheik took all three stocks that way.

When she came back she had already transformed back into Zelda 

"Zelda that was a great fight. Why didn't you train as Sheik yesterday?" I asked

"I thought it best to catch my first opponent off guard."

We ended up talking through the final match of the day about us all asking if we could train against Sheik and only realized it was over when we heard Ness and the Ice Climbers cheering to congratulate the younger Link on his win against Mewtwo.

Most of what came out of today was me realizing the biggest threats shown today were Marth, Fox, and Sheik. Who knows what we'd see tomorrow.

{AN: Ayy Its ya boi mister forget about this story til someone comments "update?" but seriously Yeah my bad, As for this update I know there's not much Ness in it but like I said this story is about Smash as a whole so sometimes we'll see another group of friends or characters get the spotlight, but don't fret we'll return with Ness, Icies, and Young Link next update(maybe Pichu too we'll see)}
