Hello, guys!!

Many have forgotten the girl that drowned and came back now all they know is the superhero that saves the city with waves.

Beautiful but dangerous waves. People see her well only how she wants to be seen but not have said they even heard a word come out of her mouth. They didn’t even know if she could speak and she liked it that way.

Why might you ask? Well, the truest answer she could give you would be privacy and so they couldn’t find her. They could still find her by other means.

In her regular day-to-day activities, she was a supermodel and everyone loved in the city for an expensive clothing company. No one has had the chance to intervene with her yet she seemed to always disappear before they had the chance to ask.

At night, however she was a different person, Water Witch, everyone called her. The superhero who took villains down and left a note letting the cops know what the person always leaving a small drawing of a wave at the end.

The sea was where she was when she didn’t need to be anywhere or be bothered by someone. In a pirate ship, which she called home. She didn’t care that it once was a pirate ship just that it was a good place to relax expect when her turtle friend or merman friend came to bother her.
Right now she was relaxing after a tiring day of work and looking at people’s horrible fashion choices.

“Ugh,” she groaned when a knock came on her door. “Coming.” When she opened it her least favorite person in the world was at her door. She put on her most dashing smile looking at him. “Hello Shar what do you want?” She asked trying to be as polite as she could handle with this guy.

“I came to ask a question for the most beautiful thing under the sea,” he answered, smiling brightly at her over the flowers in his arms. “I wanted to ask if you-“

“No.” She cut him off and slammed the door in his face. She heard knocking on the door and then it stopped. A cry of pain came from outside and a more familiar knock came, making her turn back to the door.

“Don’t worry I got rid of the lunatic and I have presents!” A new voice said from outside of the door.

She with newfound strength she rushed to the door throwing it open to find her best friend at the door. “Paio!” She cried, throwing her arms around him. “I missed you! How have you been?”

“I have been good! I got rid of him and got you flowers!” Paio responded, holding out the flowers from the sea that appeared to have been wrestled from someone.

“Why thank you they are so pretty!” She swam over to the vase putting the new flowers inside. “So how did you get him away this time?” She asked.

“I told him I was sick and if he didn’t go away, I would sneeze right on him,” he said settling down into the chair he claimed when she moved into the cave. “Anyway, aren’t you supposed to be out doing superhero business today?”

She pointed over at a paper next to him. She waited until he opened it and told him, “I was invited to a Gala to celebrate superheros tonight."

“That’s fantastic!!” Paio looked at her, realizing that she wasn’t actually happy about going. “What’s wrong?”

“What if they come to the Gala they could finally get me,” she said her voice quiet from her usual loud voice. “I can’t go back to that place. I won’t make it out this time.”

“Kawai,” he said, waiting for her to look at him. “You are stronger than you think you are. They wouldn’t be able to keep you in there of they got you. Maybe even the superhero you keep talking about will save you!”

She appeared to be zoning out her hair beginning to float in the surrounding water. He started to hum a light-hearted tune to bring her back to the present. Kawai shook her head and could control herself her hair falling back down.

“Sorry I was thinking back to what they used to do to me,” she whispered she looked around realizing where they were. “I have to back to the surface. I shouldn’t be down here when I am upset we don’t want another tsunami.”

She got up and gave him a hug and went to go get dressed. He waited for her even though she hadn’t asked him to wait. He sighed while he waited what did this so-called Phoenix have he didn’t? He was distracted from his thoughts when she came out of her bathroom wearing her favorite outfit.

She smiled at him making his heart flutter. “Why do you look jealous? I told you if you wanted an outfit or something from the store I can get you something like this!” She said, tilting her head at him thinking. “It's a girl isn’t it?”

“No-oo of course not,” he said, feeling nervous that she can read him so well.

“Tell me all about her while we swim to the surface!” She opened her door and swam through her door.

He swam after her trying to catch up. “Wait up!!” He said catching up to her.  She was watching him waiting for an answer. “Um well she likes someone else and I can’t get over that twinkle in her eye,” he told her watching her out of the corner of his eye.

“Does this girl happen to be me?” She said not looking at him.

“I um...”

“It is isn’t it?” Kawai said still not looking at him. When he didn’t answer, she swam away as fast as she could.

“WAIT!!!” he cried trying to swim after her but she didn’t listen just kept swimming away.

Suddenly she stopped almost to the top of the ocean he almost ran into her. He gently grabbed her arm, turning her towards him. She was crying, which made him swim back a little. “You can’t Paio you promised me when we first met. But you don’t listen to me everyone who gets close to me dies unless they have the same amount of power as me! Take some time away from me stop loving me! Being my friend is one thing loving me gets people killed!” She said pulling away from him.

“Please, just listen to me!” He begged her.

“It's for your own good!” She said swimming up to the surface as fast as she can get away from him before she does something catastrophic. She swam back to the beach feeling the sun warming her fresh tears. No one was there, and that made her smile. Peace and quiet until the Gala later.
Wiping her tears away she flicked her dry brown hair over her shoulder and walked towards her secret beach house. She walked inside and lounged down on one couch.

“Do you need anything Miss Kawai?” Her butler, James asked.

“Can you make a big chocolate ice cream and one of those Marvel movies I don’t care which one just any of them!” She told him holding her head in her hands.

“Right away, Miss,” James said disappearing from the room.

“Why can’t I be left alone in the sea?” She asked no one in particular.

“Well, if you weren’t taking care of this city, we wouldn’t have survived without you and Phoenix,” James said coming back into the room with The Civil War marvel movie, a big bowl of chocolate ice cream, and tissues.

“Thank you, James! Do you think you can sit with me just for a little while? I am lonely plus what would I do without my Marvel friend?” She asked, patting the seat next to her.

James smiled and put the movie in. He sat down next to her, handing her tissues every once in a while. He never thought he would have the best job ever and be able to watch Marvel movies with a superhero and supermodel who knew!

I wonder if I truly will ever meet Phoenix,” Kawai thought settling in to watch the character everyone always compared her to Scarlet Witch.

To be continued....
