Fliory
Kagagaling ko lang sa New York at umuwi ako dito sa pilipinas to live my life, to start something new, and I decided to stay here in Baguio. I didn't plan on how I'm supposed to live. I just planned on going home here in Philippines despite not having enough money to last me a month.
I need to work but how am I going to work if I didn't even finish college. I don't have any college degree.
This will be stressful but I'm happy that I'm here now, that's first.
And it killed me on how handsome this man is, that lips, a kissable lips—well every lips is kissable but his is like calling you, his pointed nose, 'yong pumuputok niyang panga sa kagandahan.
"Ma'am? Sa'n tayo?" His cold voice is gone. Kumunot tuloy ang noo ko. Maybe I heard him wrong the first time. Yeah, I was just occupied.
"Sa puso mo," I blurted out. Napangiwi tuloy ako, but it was enough to make him chuckle.
"Sure," he replied and this time, I laughed.
"Why so handsome mr. Taxi Driver," I commented. "Anyway.
"Bakasyonista?" tanong niya. Nagkibit balikat ako.
"I don't know."
"Bakit?"
"I came from New York. I plan to live my life here in this place." Natatawang sabi ko. Yeah right, live my fucked up life here. Well, it's nearly hundred percent fixed now.
I don't judge but damn! "As far as I know that's exactly the rolex watch that cost $56,000 something."
And for the second time I heard him chuckle. It was a manly chuckle. I bet many women find this attractive because it is very attractive.
"You're good," sabi nito. "Yeah. Being a taxi driver is just my hubby and a way to see beautiful women." Natawa ako but at the same time I checked him out. Hindi naman siya mukhang manyak pero we never know. He might be using his face to fetch ladies.
"So you're rich?"
I accidentally looked him in the eyes and I felt like I stopped breathing the moment I saw his eyes. I didn't even notice the color earlier. It's green, and it's beautiful.
"Done checking my eyes?"
I look away breathe in and out.
"We're here," sabi niya at kumindat.
It's free."
