Chapter 16

Magnus

"Who the fuck did this?!" I ask calmly but I knew they could sense the anger building up inside of me.

"As of now, we have no idea, my lord. I got a call from Dinx who was the first to the scene. He said our maid was in a car crush."

I feel so useless. All the power I own, all the guns, all the men, and to see the person that is special to me lying down in a hospital bed. This hurts a lot.

I should've just told her to stay home.

What if they got to her? What will I do? She doesn't know anything about what I do yet.

She was alone in the car, the driver's seat was empty.

What if the person next to her that time was one of my enemy? I can never forgive myself if she got caught up with my business.

But there's no point in blaming myself right now, isn't it? I should find who did this to her. They should know better than messing with me.

I sat on the chair beside her bed. I held my hand up to touch her hands. She has bruises on her face from the glasses of the broken windshield. I was told she hit her head really hard that caused her to pass out. There's also bruising on her chest from the seatbelt and little cuts on her arms. Other than that, it's all good.

I caress my thumb on the scars of her hands. Both hands are scarred and it's a lot of scar. I can tell most of the scars are deep. She has it on her arms, thighs and waist.

I felt more useless. I've touched her waist many times but didn't feel any scars. I wanted to punch myself so bad. I wanted to smack my head until it cracked open. I'm so bad.

"Do you think she did this to herself?" I ask. I'm pretty sure it's a self harm scar but I wanted to know what they think.

"That doesn't look like a torture scars. Or if it is, the culprit is sure soft hearted," Rein says.

I went silent.

Is that the reason why she didn't want to open any lights when we do it? She would always refuse to have a lights on sex. It didn't matter to me but now it should've. I should've ask. I should've got curious.

I wanted to dig deep about her, to pay someone to investigate her but that feels like violating her privacy. It's better if answers came from her.

"Fuck!" I whisper to myself. I heaved a deep breath.

I've been having problem with someone who came here in Philippines to kill me. And recently, I've been confuse on what I really feel towards her.

Ano ba 'tong pinasok kong gulo.

Umupo ako sa sofa ng hospital at ginulo ang buhok ko.

"My lord, one of the court judges has arrived to personally execute you for breaking rules of the organization." Hindi ako sumagot. "Should we pull some string to clean your name? You know we can't be caught now," magalang na sabi ni Rein.

"I know. But what bothers me more is why? Why would they send one of the judges to kill me. What secret have they unfold about me? For the judge to even agree to execute me personally. And why the fuck is fliory lying there right now?! Is it our enemy? If it is, then who?" I frustratedly mess my hair. Tumayo ako mula sa pagkakaupo at nagsimulang maglakad paalis ng kwarto. I can't stand seeing Fliory like this. it's all my fault. But I also can't stand leaving her again so I ended up going back to my chair.

"Get out!" I said calmly. Agad silang umalis.

I need time and I don't want to leave Fliory's side.

I turn to fliory who's still sleeping. "I'm sorry," I whispered.

4 days later

Fliory
Tatlong araw akong tulog, paggising ko ni anino ni Magnus wala akong nakita. Laging si Jax at Rein and nandito. Minsan na rin akong dinalaw ni Clauve, sinipa rin siya kaagad ni Jax paalis kasi maingay daw siya at malikot.

"Jax, nasan si Magnus?" tanong ko. Bumangon ako mula sa pagkalahiga sa kama ko at tumingin kay Jax na busy sa phone niya.

"May inaasikaso," sagot niya. I turned to Rein na nagbabalat ng Apple at linalagay sa plato ko.

"Don't look at me, I can't give you any answer," he says.

Bumuntong hininga nalang ako at tumingin sa bintana.

Hapon na naman. Another day will pass na wala si Magnus.

Nagsisimula na akong magtampo.

Ilang minutong katahimikan ang bumalot sa amin hanggang sa marinig ko ang pintong nagbukas.

"Sun!" Masigla kong bati at tumayo sa pagkakaupo sa hospital bed.

I've been actually worried about him since I woke up. Kasi siya ang dahilan kung bakit hindi malala sugat ang natamo ko. He covered his body to protect me. I've been wanting to ask Rein but I always forgot because Magnus isn't coming to see me and it occupied my mind. He orders Rein not to let me out of the hospital not unless all my wounds are healed. He send all this order to Rein yet he can't make time to visit me.

I looked at Sun. He looks fine. He has guaze pads on the left part of his neck. I remember him cover me. He have gotten that when he covered me.

"Are you ok?" I ask. Hindi siya sumagot bagkus nakatingin siya sa likod ko. Tumingin ako kay Rein at Jax. Both of them are looking at Sun too. I could feel this weird tension between them so I ask, "Do you guys know each other?" Sandaling tumingin si Jax sa akin at ngumiti.

"No," nakangiting sabi niya. I look at Rein. Umiling din siya at umupo na't sumubo sa Apple na binalatan niya para sa akin at pumikit.

Binalik ko ang tingin k okay Sun. He gave me a smile and held up the box he's holding. It's a cake.

"I bought you this," sabi niya

Napangiti ako. "Thank you," I took the box from him. "Come, let's eat it."

Hindi ko siya inantay sumagot at nagtungo sa table. I put the cake there. I was about to take the empty plate but I heard the door opened. I got excited thinking it's Magnus. I would've smiled but I couldn't. He's holding a gun, pointed right on Sun's head.

"Magnus!" sigaw ko. Jax suddenly grab me and took me away from Sun, nakita ko naman si Rein na may hawak na ring baril at nakatutok kay Sun.

"You guys! Stop it!" sigaw ko. I tried to get away from Jax's grip but he's strong.

"Shut up Fliory. You don't know him." Jax said.

"I know him! Drop you guns!" sigaw ko.

"Stop resisting."

"Why would someone like you step foot in this room? Knowing it's us in here." Rein's voice sounded dangerously serious. He's not playing around. He might fire that gun.

"I was only gonna visit my friend. I didn't know she know you guys," kalmadong sagot ni Sun kahit dalawang baril na ang nakatutok sa kan'ya.

"Are you the one who was with her in the accident?" tanong ni Magnus.

Tumango si Sun.

"Well, I don't like it," Magnus said. Ipinalo niya ang hawak niya baril sa ulo ni Sun.

Sun fell on his knees and I could see blood pouring down his head. I could feel anger inside me.

"Stop it," I say in a low voice. Stop.

"When you know your fucking life is in fucking danger. You shouldn't invite a random person inside you freakin' car," kaldamong sabi ni Magnus at ikinasa ang baril.

"What? You gonna shoot me? Do it then," Sun taunted him. "But you know you can't. It'll only cause your life to shorten more."

Sun didn't sound scared. He's more like, confident that Magnus won't pull the trigger. I could sense it, there's something between this two that I don't know about.

So many mystery.

I started feeling dizzy and Jax felt it. My breathing became uneven and I could feel myself drifting away.

And I pass out.
