Chapter 11

"Mom! Mom! Are we going home in the Philippines this vacation?" Mom looked at me.

"Anong sinabi ko sayo. Say it all in tagalong, so you could learn it all fast." Napakamot tuloy ako sa kilay ko.

"Sorry po. Nakalimutan ko."

Ngumiti si mommy sakin kaya ngumiti na rin ako pabalik sa kan'ya.

"I love you," she said.

Did you mean it? Did you mean it?!

Mabilis akong bumangon sa kama nang magising ako sa panaginip ko.

Ang tanda ko na. Ang tagal na no'n. Napailing nalang ako at umalis sa kama. I could really use a day off today.

So, I changed clothes and decided to wear a shirt and shorts that is above the knee.

I looked at myself in a mirror before going out my room. Magnus isn't here and if Rein notice I'm sure he won't ask. Paglabas ko sa kwarto, nakita ko si Rein sa sala, tulala.

"Rein?" tawag ko sa kan'ya. He didn't even bother looking at me.

"Yes?"

"Aalis ako. Ayos ka lang?" Agad siyang tumango but I know he's not. He's eyes say it all. Ngumiti lang ako.

Maybe he needs more time to think. It's good, the house is all his. He can have the space that he needs.

PAGDATING sa mall wala akong ginawa kun'di maglakad lakad dito sa loob. It's been how many hours at wala pa akong nabibili ni isang gusto ko. Magnus wired my 2 months salary and was shock when it's a hundred thoughsand. Fifthy thoughsand per month.

I decided to stop and sit on a bench and think of anywhere I should go and see here in Baguio. Madaming pasyalan pero hanggang Mall muna ako. Magiipon pa ako, so I could spend a lot of time in vacation and not run out of money, and I wanted to rent an apartment, so I won't need to be always in the house. I would love to go out at night, too.

"Hi." A guy appeared in front of me.

"Yes?" I looked at him, confuse. Tumingin siya sakin at kumamot sa batok niya at umupo sa tabi ko.

"This'll be a little weird but can you lend me money?" pabulong niyang sabi so I laughed. Scam 'to no?

"Sira ulo ka. Scammer ka no?" Mabilis at sunod-sunod siyang umiling. I looked at him from head to toe. He's wearing a quite good clothes. Who the fuck wear a tux and asked for money to stranger?

He's got a weird snake ring on his fingers and he have, i guess five ear piercing. He looks like person that could stab with knife if he wants to.

"I was robbed,"matamlay na sabi niya at bumuntong hininga. "That prostitute robbed me. Fuck! I'm so hungry." Sinabunutan niya ang buhok niya and hoplessly look up.

Bumuntong hininga nalang ako, we're in a crowded place, so there's a low chance that he'd hurt me in front of all these people.

"Hindi ako bangko para magpautang pero i can buy food for you."

"Ah, de Verdad?! I mean really?! You would?" Tumango ako at tumayo sa pagkakaupo at tumingin sa paligid.

"Where should we go?" tanong ko.

"Anywhere," he replied.

Dinala ko siya sa mcdo at duon nag-order ng pagkain.

"Are you sure it's safe to eat these? This look like a cheap and unsafe fast food chain," bulong niya. I knew this guy isn't cheap.

"You sure did grow with a diamond spoon in your freaking mouth." He suddenly back off and started eating.

"Sabi ko nga safe dito," bulong niya.

Time pass and he finishes his food so we started chatting a little bit.

Turns out he's from Spain but both his parents are filipino and he was having a vacation here and chasing someone and sumabit daw siya sa bar while doing a something, and he was with a prostitute and the prostitute took everything away from him. I don't even know how he got robbed, but that prostitute is sure clever enough to fool him.

"What will you do now?" tanong ko at tumingin sa labas. Hapon na and the sun is setting.

"Pwedeng hiramin phone mo? I'll call my dad to send someone to fetch me." I hesitated but he hasn't done anything suspicious, so I gave him my phone.

After calling someone he looked at me and smile.

"By the way, what's your name?" Tumitig lang ako sa kan'ya at kinuha ang phone na inaabot niya.

"Ayos lang if you don't tell me. Though, what really bother me is your scars. Can I ask something about it?" tanong niya.

Oh, yeah. I forgot I wasn't wearing a long sleeve. I haven't notice him staring at it, so I totally forgot. People's stare is what mostly reminds me I was showing a little skin.

"Yeah, sure I don't mind."

"Did someone torture you?" tanong niya.

"Yeah. Someone I hated. I'm over it now, though. I'm in a better place now."

"Well, since you helped me. Give me a name. I'll find him and torture him back," he stated casually.

"Seryoso?" I ask, amused.

Tumango siya. Mukhang seryoso nga siya.

"Well, her name is Fliory. Find that damn human for me then," I said and fixed my things. I bid my goodbye and left.

Pagkalabas ng mall bumuntong hininga ako. I had fun meeting that weird as guy.

PAG-UWI ko nagtungo ako sa kwarto para magpalit at hinanap si Rein. After minutes of walking around the house I didn't find him. Sakto rin namang dumating si Magnus.

"Rein isn't coming home for weeks. He has another job to do," bungad ni Magnus. Napansin niya yatang naghahanpa ako.

"How is he?" tanong ko. Magnus looked at me with his questioning eyes. Everything is suspicious to this guy. "I saw him looking so not good kaninang umaga," I explained. Tinanggal ni Magnus amg neck tie niya at ang tuxedo niya.

"Ayos lang siya. Don't mind him."

"Then I'll do house chores from now on?" Umiling si Magnus. "What?" Hindi sumagot si Magnus tuluyan ng pumasok, nakasunod sa kan'ya si Jax.

"I will," nakangiting sabi niya. "And Rein told me to never entrust you anything but passing utensils, closing windows, unplugging, and killing of cockroaches."

That's a very specific. I would want to smack Rein when he comes back.

"That guy had the guts to tell you those?" inis kong sbai.

"Yep and he told me the reason. It's because he don't trust you enough to do anything alone." I rolled my eyes with his reasons. I though we were having progress. That guy! I will kick his balls.

"Arg! That guy told you that?!" Tumango si Jax. Patay talaga sa akin 'yong Rein na 'yon pag umuwi siya.

"Time to cook!" sigaw ni Jax at nagtungo sa kusina. "You coming?" he asked me. Do I look like I have a choice?

Nagtungo ako sa taas kung nasaan si Magnus. I found him in his office, busy on his laptop.

Bunksan mo ang pinto at kumatok bago pumasok.

"Yes?" I can tell he has something else in mind. He wasn't being playful and he sounded tired.

"I just wanna ask something."

Tumingin siya sa akin at tila ba hinihintay kung anong sasabihin ko. His silence is bothering me.

"Itatanong ko sana kung pwedeng umalis ako rito, I don't mean to stop working but to stop living here as I work. I want to rent my own place and go home there when my job is down," I explained. It's not gonna be soon but it's a plan, so I wanted him to know.

Nag-antay ako ng sasabihin niya pero nanatili lang siyang nakatingin sa akin. maya maya rin ang pagkunot ng noo niya, so I started to feel really awkward. Wala naman akong nasabing masama.

"Are you ok?" tanong ko. "Do you have a lot in mind? I'll come back tomorrow then."

Aalis na sana ako nang magsalita siya. "You're fired."
