'how is she back?' 'why was she back?' 'when did she come?' i heard the whispers coming from your table. they weren't even whispers anymore. they were confused and surprised at the same time. i saw your face of shock.

i stood up from the table, leaving the cafeteria.

i didn't bother to even ask you who the girl was. i made my way to the hospital where jungkook was.

previously before visting him i bought him flowers with a little note hung up on them and a small present. as soon as i got there i came up to the receptionist.

'hello! i was wondering in which room jeon jungkook is laying?'

'one second' she said, typing something, probably his name, into the computer. i started wandering around my mind when she broke me out of my thoughts with her loud voice.

'jeon jungkook, he was brought last night. second floor, room 214'

'thank you' i nodded at her.

i went up to the elevator, driving myself to the second floor. as soon as i got there i tried to find room 214.

'208, 210, 212, ah! here it is' on the blank wooden door there was a big 214 written on it. i knocked slowly. i heard a faint 'come in'. i opened the door to be greeted with jungkook laying in the bed watching the television.

'songul?' he seemed surprised to see me.

'hi' i said, putting down the present on the couch next to his bed and the flowers on the side table.

'how are you jungkook?' i said. maybe it was a stupid question to ask, but i still did. i wanted to break the silence between us.

'what do you think songul? life hates me. i should have died last night. but you came and had to be the best hero that you are and save me.' he said.

'you shouldn't have done that. i don't deserve this life' he said quietly. i wanted to hug him and tell him how much i care for him and how the boys care for him even more. but i decided to not move a finger and just stay silent.

'i'm sorry' i said. after a while.

'it's not your fault you're the nice person that you are, it just comes naturally from you.' he said, moving his gaze from the television to me.

i inhaled loudly. 'remember the night you brought me into yoongi's apartment and took care for me? this is me giving you back. you're my best friend jungkook' i held his hand tightly in mine. 'you deserve the world, okay?' i smiled at him, and he gave me one of his genuine smiles. i felt at ease.

'have you...' i stopped myself for a second when i saw him raise his eyebrow. 'have you perhaps told the boys about what happened?'

'no'

'why jungkook?'

'i don't think they would care' his eyes went to the clothes hanger where a flannel was hung up. i recognised the flannel as the one yoongi wore a few times. i remember seeing him in it.

'my foster mom brought me it' he said.

'yoongi left it to me so whenever i feel sad i can just look at it and remember as if he is with me'.

'he really does care for you, songul. i haven't seen him like that since...'

'since that girl left him?' i finished the sentence for him. his eyes widened.

'how do you know?'

'i heard namjoon mentioning gi the other day and a girl came in our school today. the boys were staring at her while yoongi was frozen. i guessed it was her' i shrugged.
