"Maddie! Maddie wait!" Nora called after her friend. She yanked her arm from around Oliver's and scurried towards her.

Of course the whole scene played out like a movie and the audience was loving it.

The return of Madeline was very significant considering she had been absent from the Hamptons scene for five years. In the past two years she had made quite a name for herself as the chief editor of Wild Magazine. Even before then her name was on everyone's lips because of the drama that seemed to creep behind her every step.

Spencer was also quite known because of his film directing. Despite what he said in interviews ("I don't think anyone really watches my movies") he was very 'up and coming' and he would probably win an Oscar in the coming years.

Nora herself was rather famous for her modelling. She was scouted at a young age and despite her current break there were always paparazzi lurking in the bushes because she had carved quite a name for herself.

Oliver was going to be a billionaire like his father. Anyone could see it. Behind the boy who took drugs and threw tantrums was a ruthless man, a business prodigy who worked magic.

Combined together, the four of them were royalty. The fact that this was the first time they were seen together since their high school days was something that shocked everyone. Ever since Nora and Oliver entered, everyone had been watching them carefully. So when Spencer very obviously stormed off and Madeline very loudly called out for him no one missed it.

Nora let out a sick laugh. Oliver was right. It was such a Madeline-move to steal the spotlight at Nora's engagement party. But, surprisingly, Nora didn't mind. She wanted her friend there. Attention was always Madeline's thing not Nora's.

"Maddie!"

Madeline turned around. Nora's hearted welled up in pity. The tears on Madeline's face broke her heart. Without thinking, she instinctively wrapped her arms around her friend. By this point people had given up on not making it obvious they were watching them and were blatantly staring at the pair.

"Nora, I-I didn't mean for this to happen. I didn't want this attention. This is why I didn't come back from Florida. It's my all my fault. I should have known he'd be angry that I've ignored him for the past few years. It's just-"

"Maddie, hush it's okay. Come on let's go somewhere private."

"No, no. Stay here. It's your engagement party, you can't miss it."

"I don't care. You're obviously not-"

"Hey," A voice interrupted.

Nora and Madeline twisted around to find Spencer standing behind them. Oliver had his arms crossed behind him. Madeline's mouth opened to say something but nothing came out.

"We should talk," Spencer muttered eventually after a few tension-filled seconds. The anger on his face hadn't disappeared and his fists were still clenched.
