Alexia's pov

The absolute second my mom and I leave her appointment my health takes a turn for the worse. My stomach begins to really cramp and I just feel extremely out of hot and winded. The sudden change isn't missed by mom mom either.

"Are you ok Alexa?" She questions.

My body feels like it's on fire. All of it just really burns.

"Yeah." I lie.

She feels my head as we slowly walk and I see her show a look of concern, "You're burning up Alexia." She comments.

"I'm fine. I'm just tired." I say.

It's not a complete lie. I am very tired. More than usual. But I haven't had to wake up this early in a while, so I'm sure it's just me not being used to waking up this early. As for my sudden rise in body heat, I probably do have a fever but it's not that big of a deal.

"Does anything hurt?" She questions.

"Just my stomach." I mumble.

"Do you feel like you're going to throw up?" She asks.

"No, not really." I reply truthfully.

It's more of just extreme cramping. It's not like stomach virus type pains. I guess that's a good sign. I hate throwing up.

We walk in silence until we get to the car when she once again feels my head, "You're so warm Alexia." She says worriedly.

"Mom, I'm fine. If you want me to rest then I will. But I'm seriously fine." I say.

"I do want you to rest. You're panting. So clearly something is wrong." She says.

I'm too tired to argue with her in this so I just keep my mouth shut. Other than hot and my stomach hurting then I'm fine. I mean isn't it normal to pant when you're hot?

"Change when we get home and get in bed Alexia." Mom says.

"Ok."

I rest my head against the car door and stare down at my phone. The only sound heard is the radio right now and I'm happy to hear it just be that. I don't feel like talking much today. I did enough if that yesterday. And this morning.

Truthfully, the idea of just laying in bed all day makes me happy. So I really want nothing more than to get home quickly so I can do that. Sleep is all I want, is that too much to ask for?

"You can play your music if you want." She comments.

"You're not going to like it." I mumble.

"Well I don't like what I'm listening to now either. Might as well listen to what you want." She says.

I look up to see we're in traffic and I realize my hopes of getting home quickly have just died. It'll be a while before we get home so I decide to take my moms offer.

I connect my phone to her car and the first song I play is I've Been Waiting by Lil Peep featuring Fall Out Boy. It's one of my favorites right now.

"You listen to lil peep?" Mom questions.

"Fall Out Boy." I clarify.

"You listen to Fall Out Boy? And you're just now telling me this?" Mom chuckles.

"The last time I told you an artist I liked, you kinda made it embarrassing. For instance, One Direction." I say.
