Alexia's pov
When I wake up the next morning my entire body feel as if it's been hit by a car. The pain has worsened and I regret waking up because now I have pain.
"Here Lexi." Dad says.
I turn my head to him and take the medicine in his hand and wash it down with a lot of water because the taste is god awful.
"Alright you've taken the first dose so hopefully you'll feel a bit better with it. I'm going to wake you up for the second dose later." He says.
"Ok." I say weakly.
I have no energy what so ever. I just feel tired and weak. Every ounce of energy I usually have is gone.
"I want momma."
"You want momma?" He asks and I nod.
He gives a small nod before leaving the room and I lay absolutely miserable in my bed. I almost wish I'd have just gotten the stupid flu shot now.
Demi's pov
I hear footsteps and I look up from Brooklyn as I feed her the bottle to see Wilmer, "Alexia wants you." He says.
I really didn't want to be near her while she's sick in case I do get flu. But my heart is breaking at the sight of her miserable and it's getting harder and harder to stick to my statement.
"Alright can you take over bottle duty?" I ask.
"Dems what are we going to do if you get sick?" He questions.
"I got the flu shot, I just didn't want to take the chance of me still possibly getting it. I've had the shot though so it's not going to be as severe as what Alexia has now. I'll be ok." I say.
He lifts Brooklyn from my arms as she continues the bottle. She doesn't seem to mind the change of arms holding her either.
"Alright I'm going to to Alexia's room now." I say.
"Alright."
I walk out of the nursery and walk to Alexia's room, "Whatcha need Babygirl?" I ask softly.
She points to the open space beside her and I get the hint she wants me to lay beside her. So I get into the bed beside her and she immediately sits up before letting out a whimper.
"I know, it hurts." I say full of sympathy.
I've had flu once and have gotten a flu shot ever since. It's painful and making the smallest movements hurt, it's near impossible to make bigger ones.
She rests her head on my chest and I put a loose arm around her and use my free hand to push the loose hair out of her face.
"You're still so hot, did your dad get you your medicine?" I ask.
"Yeah." She says weakly.
"Not feeling much better are you?" I ask.
She shakes her head, "No."
"I'm sorry." I say.
"It's ok, pneumonia felt worse." She whispers.
I have never had pneumonia but I know that hurt. Alexa couldn't breathe without there being pain. With that an infection in the lungs it had to have hurt.
"Neither are fun are they baby?" I ask.
"No." She whispers.
"Are you hot?" I ask and she nods.
"Would you like me to hold some ice on your head to try and cool you down?" I ask.
"Yes."
"Let me wait until your dad comes into the room, I don't want to move you because I know it's painful." I say.
