So, this story seems to be a little slow at the moment, don't worry you all know me well enough that something is bound to happen right?

We are already at chapter 53, and I honestly didn't think this story would be this long...

Thank you all for reading, I mean I can't even say it enough.

~Niall~

Freak.

Freak.

Freak.

The word echoed in my head, taunting me. My head was still on Harry's chest, my mind in turmoil while my face showed contentment. Yes, I was pretty content with the position, with not having to be the protector for once, but my mind wouldn't shut up. The dream wouldn't stop replaying in my head. The hard cold stare, the vicious words. It wouldn't stop. And the quietness of the room didn't shut my mind up; in fact it made my mind louder. I couldn't even hear the sound of Harry's heartbeat over the vicious words my mind spat at me.

I sat up, moving away from the comfortable position and made my way from the bed. Harry groaned at the loss of warmth and I smiled at the boy.

"Where are you going Ni?" he questioned, and I smiled at the sound of his groggy voice. Like he had just fallen asleep and then was woken.

"I need to check out our food situation. Can't survive if we don't eat." I muttered a small smile on my face. He nodded but his face still held signs of disappointment. I pecked his forehead lightly before standing up and sauntering out of the room and into the hallway.

I could hear voices downstairs, and I smiled slightly, the voices of my friends killing the voice in my head. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where Zayn, Louis, and Liam were laughing about something. Liam smiled at me when I stepped through the archway, a large crinkly eyed smile and I smiled back, glad nothing had to change after my freak out.

Freak.

Liam didn't see me as a freak, and neither did Harry. At least I didn't think they did. They would act differently around me if they did, wouldn't they?

"Do you want to go check out the crops out back, see if they're any good?" Liam asked, breaking me out of my self-deprecating thoughts. I nodded, glancing over at the couple in the corner who were now eating each other's faces off. I fake gagged, causing Louis to flip me off and Zayn to giggle against his lips.

Smiling, I left through the back door with Liam as we made our way down to the crops area. We were laughing and pushing each other, and generally just having a good time- and that was a mistake. Sure the voice in my head was silent, but our surroundings were too. There were no more birds tweeting, and the wind blowing through the leaves was all to be heard.

And it sounds cliché as hell, but it was too quiet.

I understood just a second too late, when dirty hands grabbed Liam from behind and pulled him backwards toward the ground; a groan following the short shriek that left his mouth. He quickly rolled over, narrowly missing the gleaming yellow teeth that were trying to sink into his skin.
