Soon, I no longer had contact with the building and I was falling but quickly stopped jerkily when a hand locked onto my wrist. It was painful, but a much better alternative then falling to my dead. How sad would that have been? Zombie apocalypse and how did I die? Fell off a roof. That’d be one for the history books. Even the guy that just died at least got attacked by walkers first. I would have been that one guy that died in the wimpiest way. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I lurched downwards before I came to another jerky stop. I glanced up to see Harry now with half his torso hanging from the building, Zayn and Louis both holding a leg each. If I continued to hang, I would drag all of them down with me and it wasn’t worth it. I shook my head at Harry and he looked at me in confusion. I let my hand fall slack and I started slipping from his grip. He rapidly shook his head at me, begging me to grab hold of his hand again. I smiled and shook my head, now just barely in his grasp. And then I was no longer holding on, and I was falling. Wind whipped through my hair as I fell, the air smelling rotten. And then impact. But not on the street, I glanced around in confusion and saw I was lying in a dumpster. That hurt, but not nearly as badly as it could have. Jeez, two days with these boys and already I’ve almost died twice. More than I have in weeks on my own. I poked my head out and gazed over the top, watching to see if any of the walkers had noticed my sudden appearance; luckily they hadn’t noticed and were happily munching on the dead guy. I stood up silently, wincing as pain shot up my back. Damn, that would probably bruise. I hoped over the edge of the dumpster and slid against the wall to the ladder on the wall leading to the roof of the other building. I successfully reached it without drawing unwanted attention and did a victory dance in my head but then cursed when I saw how high the ladder was. I glanced at the rapidly increasing mob and rolled my eyes. Fuck it. I jumped, my fingers grazing the bottom step but I couldn’t grasp it. I landed, a bit loudly, and turned my head to watch the walkers again who seemed to have frozen. I cursed in my head and jumped again, barely missing it a second time. I looked at the group to see they were looking at me and I cursed out loud. I jumped again, grasping the step and grabbed it with my second hand. I glanced at the mass to see them curiously walking towards me and I grabbed the second bar, hoisting my weight up. I continued the process quickly until my feet met with the bottom step, the walkers just a foot away. Now was not the time to expose my secrets. I climbed the rest of the way, running to where the others were and grabbed my bag. I nodded signaling that I was okay, and headed to the opposite side of the building, preparing to jump across the smaller alleyway and onto the next building. I stopped at the edge and gestured for Liam to go first, so if any of us miss then at least Liam is strong enough to help him. Liam made it over successfully, followed by Zayn, Louis, Harry, than me. We continued to hop along from building to building until we reached the end and decided to make our way to the streets. We stealthily made our way down the fire escapes and to the dark alleyway that smelled worse than a dead body, which in all fairness is what probably caused the smell.

Now, we were getting somewhere.
