Chapter 10: Blizzard

Betty and Jug's bedroom still
Betty: "God Jug this hurts! Oooooohhh!" *in pain*
Jug: "Betts, lay in bed ok? I'm going to go get you water, towels, and blankets. Just breathe in and out for me ok?"
Betty: "*breathing in and out* "Jug hurry!"
Jug: "I'm here. I can't call anybody due to the blizzard. Look when contractions come, squeeze my hand. I don't care if my hand hurts. You're in worst pain. I'm going to put the news on that way once they give the go that the roads are clear we are going straight to the hospital."
Betty: "Ooooook."
Jug: "Do you want me to check online if there's any way to tell how dilated you are and how to deliver a baby?"
Betty: "What are you out of your mind?!"
Jug: "Betts, we are going to be here for a while. I don't think this blizzard is stopping any time soon.At this point, I think it's safe for me to look this up because if this is a quick labor, I would have to deliver her."
Betts: "I guess."
Jug: "I'm going to lay next to you with the laptop. Just hold my hand and feel free to squeeze."
Betty: "Ok but Jug, I'm hungry."
Jug: "Well Betts, it's says here that you can't eat food when in labor. The only thing you can eat is ice chips."
Betty: "Fuck!" *screams in pain*
Jug: "Do you want me to get you ice chips?"
Betty: "Yes please! Oh god Jug another contraction!"
*gets the ice chips from the freezer ice mode thing*
Jug: "I'm back. Just breathe in and out ok?"
Betty: "Thank you for the ice chips. Try calling Veronica and Archie. They live next door maybe they can come help. It's not like they are far from us."
Jug: "I'll try."
*calls Veronica and Archie*
Veronica and Archie: "Hello?"
Jug: "GUYS COME OVER! BETTY'S IN LABOR!"
Veronica: "Jughead are you crazy?! There's a blizzard outside!"
Archie: "Babe, we are next door and they are going to need our help to deliver the baby."
Veronica: "Alright."
Jughead: "Come hurry to help!"
*end call*
Jug: "Betts they are on their way."
Betty: "Ok. Jug, hand!" *screams through contraction*
Jug: "Breathe in and out. In and out."
Betty: "Jug, it hurts so bad! Oooooh god!"
Veronica and Archie: "Hey we're here!"
Jug: "Ok how do I check to see how dilated she is?"
Archie: "Um it says online that you put your fingers inside the vagina and if you fit four fingers, you are 7 centimeters dilated."
Jug: "Betts, who do you want us to check?"
Betty: "I don't care just someone check! *yells as another contraction starts*
Veronica: "I'll check. Archie you would check but I think Jughead would kill you if you looked down there."
Jug: "I would let it slide in this case." *sitting next to Betty and holding her hand*
Veronica: "Betty, when they checked for me when I was going to give birth to Freddie, they said I would feel a bit pressure when they put their hand there. I'm giving you a head's up of what you are going to feel."
Betty: "Thanks. How far along am I?"
Veronica: "About 6 centimeters."
Betty: "Um guys?"
Jug: "What's wrong?"
Betty: "My water broke."
Veronica: "Fuck."
Jug: "What's wrong now?"
Veronica: "Well, when your water breaks, you are in active labor. Which means you are going to be in more pain than ever."
Archie: "Guys what do we do? We can't call 911 due to cell service."
Veronica: "Arch, go check on the news for the blizzard. Check if they say if it's going to pass soon."
Archie: "Alright. Tell me if you need me to get you something."
*Archie goes downstairs*
Betty: "Oh my god! Jug, this hurts way too much!"
Jug: "Betts, think of it this way. As each contraction goes, you are one contraction closer to holding Juliet."
Betty: "Thanks for the motivation. Oh my god! Active labor is no joke! It's hot in here."
Veronica: "Archie! Get wet small cloths!"
Archie: "It's not passing any time soon. How dilated is she now?"
Veronica: "Shit! Um she's like at 8 now. Shit ok, Jughead, where did you put your towels and blankets?"
Jughead: "In the bathroom. What's going on?
Betty: "Ooooooohhhhh it's getting worse!"
Veronica: "She's about to be 9 centimeters dilated and then at 10 she starts pushing. We need to prepare everything for when she starts pushing."
Betty: "What? I don't want to give birth at home!" *another contraction starts*
Jug: "Betts, there's no way that blizzard is stopping any time soon. You are going to have to give birth here."
Veronica: "Arch, get the blankets and towels!"
Archie: "Got the towels."
Veronica: "Betty, you're dilated to 10. You're going to have to start pushing. Archie, you are going to hold the towels and once Juliet is born you are going to clean her up. Jug, with one hand you are going to hold her hand as you hold her leg. With your other arm, you are going to support her back. I'm going to wash my hands really quick."
*washes her hands*
Veronica: "Ready to push?"
Betty: "Yeah but I'm nervous."
Jug: "Betts, dont be nervous you'll be fine."
Veronica: "He's right B. Ok let's have this ba--"
*power goes out*
Veronica: "--by. Um Jughead, do you guys have back up generators?"
Jug: "In the basement. Archie, you are going to see a switch labeled as back up generator. Flip it and it should turn on."
*Archie runs and flips the switch*
Archie: "Guys did it work?!"
Veronica: "No."
*Archie runs back up*
Archie: "Guys the generator gave out. We have our phones to use as flashlights. We have the actual flashlights. I also got lanterns and candles."
Veronica: "Ok we are going to have to use that. I got the phone flashlight perfectly placed. Now let's have this baby. Betty, push on your next contraction and Archie count to 10. Betty, when Archie says 10, stop pushing and breathe then continue pushing. Jughead, you already know what to do. Ok Betty, push!"
Betty: *starts pushing* "Oh god! This hurts like fucking hell!"
Jug: "Betts, you're doing amazing! Keep going!"
Archie: "10! Stop and breathe then keep pushing."
Veronica: "B push again!"
Betty: *cries because how much pain she's in* "Jug! This hurts!"
Jug: "Betts, you can do it!"
Archie: "Stop and breathe! Betty you're doing amazing job!"
Veronica: "Betty I can see her head. You are halfway there! Jughead do you want to see?"
Jug: "Yeah I want to see. Oh my god that's the most beautiful top of a head I've ever seen!"
Veronica: "Archie, clean the top of her head please."
Archie: "Got it."
Betty: "Can I see?"
Archie: "Let me grab a mirror."
*gets the mirror*
Betty: "Oh my god she's almost here."
Veronica: "Push!"
Betty: *starts pushing again* "V, I can't push anymore. I'm sorry but I can't and tired!"
Jug: "Betts, you can do it. You are the strongest woman I know. If Veronica and other women can do this, you can too. Don't give up now that you are almost there."
Veronica: "B, push you only need to push one or two more times then she's here!"
Betty: "Ok." *pushes and screams then relaxes*
*Juliet cries*
Jug: "Oh my god Betts. She's here. She's actually here." *starts crying*
Betty: "Oh my god! She's beautiful."
Veronica: "That she is. Archie clean her please. Congrats you two! Welcome to parenthood with me and Archie."
Archie: "Here she is. I put a diaper on her but guys she's gorgeous."
Veronica: "Jughead, do you want to cut the cord?"
Jug: "Ye-yeah." *cuts the cord*
Veronica: "The website says to throw away the placenta. Betty you have to push two times to deliver the placenta."
*Betty pushes two times*
Veronica: "I'm going to throw this away. Archie come with me. Let's give them some privacy."
*Veronica and Archie leave*
Jug: "I can't believe she's here. Our princess."
Betty: "I know. Oh my god Jug, she's opening her eyes. I wonder who's eyes she has."
*Juliet opens her eyes*
Jug: "She has my eyes and my hair."
Betty: "She looks just like you. Looks like you got your twin."
Jug: "Imagine if she has my appetite."
Betty: "I'm going to miss affording food."
*Archie comes in*
Archie: "Guys, the blizzard lifted. we can go to the hospital and get her checked."
