Chapter 16: The cat is in trouble

Adrien spent the whole day saying sorry to Marinette. He succeeded, though. Marinette finally forgave her before the day ended.

"Bye, Mi'lady," Adrien said, waving at Marinette before finally walking towards Nathalie and his driver.

Marinette waved back. "Bye! See you tomorrow."

Marinette started walking home as soon as Adrien left. She was okay now. The teachers did not get informed about the fight earlier. Marinette hardly get scratches, too. She was wearing long sleeves, that's why..

"I'm home, Mom, Dad," she yelled, going inside the bakery.

She immediately went to her room. She started sketching designs again.

Adrien, on the other side, was still on his way home. He was silent the whole ride. It is a good thing that he doesn't have his fencing lessons today. It will be hard for him to deal with Kagami if there is.

When they reached home, Nathalie just silently opened the door for Adrien. He just casually got out from the car.

Adrien was shocked to see his father—who hates going out—was outside their house. He looks serious, as usual.

"Adrien, go to your room. We will talk there," his father said, sounding authorative.

Adrien looked down. He isn't dumb. He already knows he's in trouble. Maybe it's because of a class he failed... Or maybe it was the fight between Marinette and Kagami...

Adrien, obeying what his father told him, went straight to his room.

"I think you're in trouble, Adrien," Plagg said.

Adrien just breathed sharply. "Just hide before he sees you, Plagg."

Not a minute later, Gabriel Agreste entered his  room. He's holding his cellphone.

"Tomoe Tsurugi talked to me."

Adrien's eyes widened. His speculations was already confirmed. It really has something to do with the fight earlier. And he knows Kagami is behind all these.

"She's very disappointed of you by going against her daughter and siding with the othrt girl," his father continued.

Adrien remained silent. He doesn't knoe ehat to say.

"Tell me, Adrien. Is Marinette Dupain-Cheng your girlfriend?"

"N-no," he replied. He knew what he answered will deeply hurt Marinette. But he couldn't tell his father the truth. He's afraid about what his father is capable of doing.

"Good then," his father said. "I want you to stoo hanging out with her and start hanging out with Tomoe's daughter."

Adrien froze after  his father finally left the room. There's no way his hanging out with Kagami. Most especially, he will never avoid Marinette. He just need to hang out with her without getting caught.

"What are you going to do now, Adrien?" Plagg asked while munching on his camembert.

Adrien sighed. "I don't know," he honestly said.

He doesn't know what will happen next. He wants to visit Marinette now but he couldn't. His father will just get more mad if he will find out that he is not in his room.

He was lying in his bed for almost an hour. He just went down for dinner and immediately came back after. His father, as usual, did not join him for dinner.

When he came back inside his room, he decided to visit Alya's Ladyblog to cheer him up a little bit.

And just by seeing his lady's pictures and video clips with him, a smile made its way to his face.
