Betty asked if I wanted to walk to school together, since we're neighbours now. Of course I agreed to the idea, and so we did just that the very next day. We were really excited since they were going to try-out to become Vixens, part of Riverdale High's cheerleading team. "What if I'm not good enough though?" I scoffed in disbelieve. "What are you talking about? You're amazing, Betty. And if Cheryl Bombshell says differently then she doesn't deserve to have you on her team." Betty pulled me in for a tight hug. "Awhh. Thank you y/n, you're the sweetest."

At school we parted ways to go to our lockers and on my way there, I ran into Veronica. She was putting her books away, looking amazing as always.
"Hey Ronnie, what's up?" I greeted her feeling pretty good. The raven-haired girl looked up at me with a beautiful smile. "Hi. Glad I'm running into you, I was wondering if we could talk?" She put her bag on her arm and pointed towards the classroom behind her. I nodded, "yeah sure". I had a small feeling what it was about. We walked in and noticed we were now in the music room.
"Look, I just wanted to apologize for yesterday" I shook my head. And weirdly enough, I knew exactly how she was feeling.
"Look, Veronica. I know what you mean and how you must be feeling. Back at my old school, at the beginning of high school, I had a huge crush on a girl in my class. She was drop-dead gorgeous and I knew she'd never feel the same about me." Veronica questioningly looked at me, waiting for me to continue. "So what happened?" I sighed.
"Well I told her. Which was the biggest mistake ever, because the whole school knew all of a sudden." I chuckled thinking back to that time.
"Glad you transferred here." She smiled biting her lip. Ok, let's not forget: Veronica Lodge is fucking beautiful and not to mention crazy hot. If anything, I was flattered by the fact that she had a crush on me. But then there was Cheryl Blossom; we all know what she looks like.
"So you and Cheryl." My eyes wondered down to her lips, and she noticed this right away.
"Yeah we kissed. And I do feel like things between me and her can go somewhere, for real." Veronica nodded, understanding what I was trying to say. At the end of the day I really wanted Veronica and I to be friends. But I didn't know if she felt the same way about this.
"Let me put it like this." Her words echoed through my head as she stepped closer into my direction. My eyes grew wide, waiting for whatever was about to happen next.
"I like you. A lot." Her left hand softly touched my arm as her other hand put a strand of hair behind my ear. Veronica had me under her spell as she whispered into my ear; "Do you like me too?" This was challenging for me, believe me it really was. But the last thing I wanted was to start things that I couldn't finish.
"No." I started, which made her look up at me confused.
"I mean, yes. Of course I like you but not in the way you want me to." Long story short, we talked it out and ended up agreeing to be friends. Which was great, because Veronica genuinely seemed like a good friend and I didn't want to lose one on my first day.

The football team came walking into the halls like some, viking tribe, and everyone seemed to approve of their behaviour. Which I thought was unbelievable. "Are you seeing this?" Jughead spoke up now standing next to me. I shook my head. Who do they think they are? "Hey juggie! Wanna join the team?" They joked harshly bumping into him. "Assholes." He said rubbing the spot on his arm. "See you in class?" He waved before he walked off towards History, which we had in like 30 minutes. "Y/n, we need to talk." Betty pulled me into another classroom and shut the door behind her. We just stood there for a minute not saying anything. "Why the hell would you do that?" I really didn't know what was going on. "Really? You have nothing to say about this?" "What- Betty I don't understand." She crossed her arms looking at me with squinted eyes. "Betty, I'm serious. I don't know what's going on here okay." She took a deep breath before she finally explained.
"Kevin saw you kissing Veronica this morning." I shook my head wanting to say something, but couldn't. "After you kissed Cheryl the day before?" I was at a loss of words. Betty noticed my confusion and was a little thrown off herself now. "Who am I supposed to believe here?"

We made our way towards the others who were seated in the student lounge. Everyone was there except for Kevin. "Guys? Someone explain this to me." Betty spoke, because she was confused and so was I. "How come, Kevin tells everyone he saw Veronica kissing y/n, when in fact she claims that she didn't?" Veronica looked up at me. "Did we kiss?" I pointed my hands at Ronnie, trying to make it clear to Betty. "See? It's bullshit." Kevin just so happend to walk in that very moment making everyone look up at him. "What?" Veronica and I giggled a bit. "Kev, did you really see these two kissing?" He was about to answer when all of a sudden Cheryl walked in. "Saw who kissing, Betty?" She sat down on my lap and I felt my heartbeat fasten. Nobody knew what to say, noticing how the vibe in the room suddenly changed.
"Who did cupido shoot his arrow onto then?" Cheryl tapped her finger on my nose, wearing her signature smile and if I didn't have heart-eyes in that moment...oh god. "Veronica and y/n. And yes, I saw them all up in each others face today." I could feel Cheryl stiffen.
"Jesus Kevin, we didn't kiss." Veronica told him. "Got close to doing so, but it never happened." She looked at me while saying it, making me feel bad. Cheryl on the otherhand stood up and looked at me with teary eyes before she ran out of the room. "Wait no Cheryl!" Veronica held me back. "Let's just give her a moment." I knew she was right, so I decided to indeed let it go for now.

"Come on, people. Let's go to class."
