Mycroft sat alone of the sofa one morning, he was an early riser and he knew Greg probably wouldn't be awake for a few more hours. The fact that he was an early riser was irrelevant this morning though, seeing as he hadn't actually slept. In fact, had only just got home from work.

He gently sipped the cup of tea he'd made himself and enjoyed the silience for the early morning at home. When he heard some banging from upstairs he knew Greg was awake. He looked at the time, 7:30, it wasn't like Greg to wake up this early let alone actually get up.

Mycroft sighed to himself and mentally prepared to face all of the questions he would get for not coming home last night.

"Myc?" Greg asked in the doorway, his voice was thick with sleep and he was rubbing his eyes in an attempt to wake up a bit.

Mycroft looked up to see Greg wearing what looked like a... a bear onesie? He'd never seen that item of clothing before, it even had ears and a tail... "Gregory?"

"Don't sound so surprised. I'm not the one who stayed out all night." Greg replied, dropping down next to his husband on the sofa.

Mycroft watched Greg, still taken aback by the outfit. "Yes, I apologise for that. I'll find some way to make it up to you, I promise."

"You better, I had to watch Columbo on my own." Greg had already made himself comfortable on the sofa. His eyes were closed and his head leant against the back of the sofa.

A few moments of comfortable silience followed before Mycroft broke it by saying something. "Gregory, what are you wearing?"

"Hm?" Greg opened his eyes as if to check what he was wearing. "Oh right that..."

"When did you get it?"

"I've had it for ages... I don't think you've ever seen it though."

"Evidently."

Greg rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I only ever wear it when you're not here..."

Mycroft tilted his head to the side. "Why is that?"

Greg shifted uncomfortably, clearly embarased about this whole thing. "It keeps me warm at night when I know you're not gonna be there..."

Mycroft felt his heart clench when Greg spoke that last sentence. He had no idea how affected his husband was when he wasn't there. He'd convinced himself Gregory would be glad of the opertunity the stretch out on the bed, because he had a habit of sleeping diagonally.

"...It's really soft..." Greg mumbled afterwards. That was mainly directed towards the floor.

"It's looks soft. May I touch it?" Mycroft asked, seeing as he'd the urge to do so since the moment he saw it.

Greg looked over at Mycroft, only slightly confused. "Uh- Sure, go ahead."

Mycroft reached out, almost hesitantly, and stroked his hand across the soft material on Greg's arm. It was soft, incredibly soft. Mycroft could see why Greg liked it so much. He started to stroke other parts of the suit because he almost didn't believe it could all be that soft.

When Mycroft got to his stomach Greg started to wriggle underneath the touch. "Careful, that tickles!"

Mycroft looked up at Greg's face and smiled. "Terribly sorry." He said before tickling Greg again, on purpose this time. Greg was already giggling, which Mycroft found adorable and amusing at the same time.

"Mycroft!" Greg exclaimed, swatting at the man's hands. Eventually he managed to push his husband away but not before they were both well and truly out of breath. He waited a minute to collect himself before crossing his arms. "This is why I never wear this in front of you."

Mycroft looked at his bear husband and smiled. "I think you don't wear it in front of me because it's adorable and you don't want to be teased."

"Well, yeah!" Greg replied. It was pretty obvious. "Its not that adorable..."

"You want me to list all the reasons it makes you adorable?"

"No."

...

"It has a hood as well..." Greg mumbled, grabbing the hood that looked like a cartoon bear face and pulling it over his head.

Mycroft almost gasped. Too much adorable. He tried to focus on the contrast between the smiling bear face and the pouting Gregory. Even that was adorable.

It was safe to say, the next time Greg had to stay out all night he made sure his husband had something to keep him warm. Of course Mycroft had protested against it and he would deny it to kingdom come, but he secretly loves his squirrel onesie.
