Angst
Greg had been texting his boyfriend Mycroft all evening. He'd spent the majority of the conversation teasing the other man about anything he could.
Suddenly though Mycroft had stopped responding. He'd read the message but then he had just left. Why? Greg couldn't help but feel like he'd said something wrong, or annoyed Mycroft in some way. He hadn't meant to.
He spent a while trying to figure out what it was that he'd said to make Mycroft stop talking to him. He couldn't work it out, which only frustrated him. If he couldn't work out his mistake, how would he stop himself from doing it again in the future? If there even was a future.
Mycroft wouldn't leave him over something so stupid, right? Right?
It was all happening again. Just like with his ex-wife. Mycroft had left him and he had no idea why.
What did he do wrong?
Greg was curled up in a ball, in the dark, on his living room floor when Mycroft replied about fourty five minutes later. He hadn't moved that whole time. His eyes were red and sore from crying. His throat was dry which now made it ache beyond belief.
He sniffed as he looked up to glance at where he'd thrown his phone earlier. It had landed on the floor at the other side of the room and bounced haphazardly towards his kitchen. After taking a minute to collect himself he got up and gently picked up his phone. He saw Mycrofts message which read:
'My apologies, I had to take a rather long phone call.'
-MHHe smiled weakly, wiped his eyes and typed a reply.
'Don't worry about it.'
