WADE'S POV:
Past.
''Just one more!'' Peter exclaimed, sounding a little tired from all the fighting. He gave me a reassuring look as we both delivered the last hit. Looking around, we saw all the helpless clones groaning in pain, unable to get up.
''Are we done here?'' I said with a victorious smile. Peter still seemed cautious, as if something was wrong. ''Peter?'' I whispered at him. He stayed silent, looking around. ''What's-''
''He's still here. I can feel it.'' Peter whispered fast, still getting glimpses of the upper levels of the building.
''That's okay, I mean, what's the worse that can happen? We'll find him and catch him.'' I reassured Spidey as I gripped tighter onto my katanas, ready to attack again. ''We're gonna-''
''Watch out!'' Peter screamed and pushed me swiftly so I'd fall down on the floor. Shortly, bullets started firing. It always impressed me, how he was so fast and predicted every attack. He seemed so alarmed, nearly... shaking? We were both on the floor, shielding ourselves as the bullets kept being fired.
''Peter.''
''I need you to be careful. I'll get out there as soon as he stops firing, I'll climb up and I'll trap him.''
''My plan hasn't failed yet!'' The man said nervously as he took a short break from shooting.
Peter nodded and jumped up, shooting his web over at the floor where the mysterious man was standing. Dodging more bullets mid air, he made his way onto the platform and shot a web on his gun, pulling it and throwing it off the edge. ''You may want to rethink that.'' Peter said with a smug attitude as he was approaching. The man was finally cornered, standing over the edge as he could not back out any more.
I quickly got up and also started making my way up the levels of the building, in a less epic way.
He used the stairs.
The man was finally cornered, standing over the edge as he could not back out any more. He looked at Peter menacingly and took a big breath. I stared from behind, waiting for Peter's next move.
As Peter was about to tie the man up to finally trap him, he suddenly turned his head back and looked at me with his eyes widened. I looked at him with utter confusion. As soon as he jumped over to me, I heard a loud bang.
''What...''
Looking down to the lower levels of the building, one of the heavily injured clones had picked up the enemy's gun and had attempted to shoot me.
Peter's grip on me loosened, as he groaned and collapsed.
I grabbed Peter before he could fall to the ground. He was unresponsive.
The bullets kept firing as I shielded Peter with my body. I held him in my arms softly. "Peter!"
"Wade..." Peter's masked face turned towards me. His healing factor was enough to keep him going.
"We'll get you out of here. You'll be alright." I said within sobs and groans. My whole back had been shot at. They must have run out of bullets finally.
I knew that his healing factor was strong enough to handle the bullet until I got him back home. After all, I wouldn't be able to take him to a hospital like this.
"Alright, Pete..." I sobbed once again. "Stay with me. We're alright." I said getting up without even looking behind me, where the man previously was. I didn't care about anything else but getting him to safety.
