WADE'S POV:

One year ago.

I could feel the confused face on Spidey through his mask. "... Chimi- what?" He finally said trying to understand.

Oh this is golden.

"You're kidding, right?" I chuckled looking at him as he shrugged. "You're unbelievable, Spidey."

Poor guy. What has he been missing on his whole life...?

After making our way to where he had previously left his backpack of groceries that was surprisingly not taken away, I started leading the way.

"I'm surprised nobody took the bag while I was gone." Spidey exhaled with relief.

"Very passionate about groceries, I see." I said teasingly and he nodded sarcastically back to me.

"I'm actually very bad at it. Most of the times I go grocery shopping I end up going back without all this stuff. Either from dropping it on the way to chase after bad guys or just not getting to the store at all." He said admittedly looking towards the road ahead.

"How heroic. The true sacrifices right here." I said faking excitement to emphasize. I received a little laugh in response.

We spent some time silently making our way to the Chimichanga stand. "Just around the corner." I said still one step ahead of Spidey.

We got to the stand and I ordered after greeting the person working there, Spidey behind me curiously looking at the food being made.

We finally got them and before handing Spidey his food he signed me to wait. "Just wait a sec." He got a tube out of his bag and placed it neatly with a clicking sound on his web shooters.

"Huh." I muttered.

He looked up at me. "Hey. I'm not that unprepared."

You could've climbed the wall and given us a piggy back ride, but I guess that's fine too...

Spidey and I made our way up to a rooftop with the web he had shot on a high building. I could finally give him the food.

My expression suddenly changed, realizing how quiet the boxes were. It was strange. But also relieving.

I felt kind of self-conscious to lift up my mask but since Yellow wasn't there it was easier for me. I eventually lifted it up a little so I could eat.

Spidey hadn't looked back at me to get a glimpse of my scarred face just yet, but he had already lifted his mask up to get a bite of the Chimichanga he was holding.

Now kiss.

Hey Wade! Did you miss us?

"Ugh.." I groaned underneath my breath.

"Hm?" Spidey turned his head, looking at me and finally seeing my scarred chin. He cocked his head slightly with curiosity. "Oh no, how'd you..."

"Oh, it's nothing. Burn scars. The guy who did this to me is dead now, anyways." I quickly said trying to explain. I sighed as Spidey didn't have a response. "Can I ask you a question?"

"It depends. What is it?" Spidey answered looking back at the view and not me so I wouldn't feel bad.

"... Who's Karen..?" I said trying to keep a flat tone as if I wasn't really that curious to find out.

Yeah, you did a great job.

Spidey laughed a little. "Karen? She's the voice inside my-"

"-Head...?" I cut him off, exactly sure of what he was going to say.
