PETER'S POV:

I held onto Wade as tight as I could as he was nervously swinging from building to building. ''You're getting the hang of it!'' I exclaimed through his screams.

''How the HELL do you do this every day!?'' He yelled with his voice cracking a little, eventually also starting to laugh with me. The sirens in the background faded away as the police slowly lost track of us. ''Hold on, we're almost there.'' Wade said as he shot one last web to a window, gaining confidence from his successful swinging... Until he realized that he was about to crash onto a wall. With a groan, he stopped the momentum with his feet and started climbing up the wall using the web.

''Not bad!'' I approved. ''I thought you would've gotten rusty.''

''Oh, please. When did you get so cocky?'' Wade scoffed sarcastically. We made our way inside the window and he let me down. Looking around, it seemed like some sort of abandoned filthy apartment. I was confused, overwhelmed and in pain. But everything seemed to be getting back in order. I looked back at Wade and smiled, embracing a tight long-lasting hug once again.

''Are you okay?'' He asked in a caring tone. He rubbed my back gently.

''Debatable.'' I said hesitantly. ''I still feel like someone's hitting my head with a hammer, and I'm so dizzy...'' I sighed. ''But I'm so glad I found you again. Now that we're together-''

''Dumbass.'' Wade cut me off, his voice breaking a little.

''... What?''

He broke the hug and held my arms to look at me straight in the eyes. ''You jumped in front of that bullet. Why!? Why did you do that!?'' I stayed silent, I was unable to explain why. I knew I would sound stupid either way. ''We talked about this before, I can recover, you can't, Peter. You jumped in front of that bullet to protect me and you almost killed yourself.''

I quietly sobbed. I don't know what went through my mind doing this again. It was almost like an instinct to protect him again, even knowing that he has a healing factor. Just like last time this happened. In the heat of the moment, I guess it didn't matter to me, cause all I could think about was losing him. ''I'm sorry.''

Wade sighed and we then both took a moment of silence taking everything in. I slowly reached my hand to his face to slowly pull his mask off. As I did, I uncovered his face to reveal his teary eyes. ''Wade-''

''Oh, keep that sappy shit out of my face.'' The voice of a stranger interrupted me in shock. I turned my head and walked around to find a tied up man laying on the floor.

''Kevin, I swear to fucking god-'' Wade screamed making his way up to him and giving him a kick in the stomach. The stranger winced in pain and gave Wade an angry stare. I stood there in awe, as Wade was having an angry staring contest with some guy on his apartment floor. ''You're pretty unappreciative for a hostage that has been kept alive this long''.

''I'd rather die than go through this. You're driving me crazy...'' The stranger spat out.

Wade ignored him and chuckled, looking back at me. ''Petey, meet my hostage!''

''Your WHAT?!''

''His name is Kevin! And he's an asshole that doesn't know how to read the room.''

''How did this-''

''He was involved in the mystery man's booby trap. The alien technology stuff. Feel free to kick the shit out of him, he has a healing factor! He also ruined my dinner when I met him. I hate is guts, I really do, but this is not the time to be talking about Kevin.'' Wade explained as fast as he could, trying to get the whole situation out of the way. He grabbed my hand and started walking towards the hallway of the apartment. ''OkaybyeKevinyouirrelevantpieceofshit!'' He screamed as he opened the door of what seemed to be his bedroom and brought me inside.

I took a deep breath taking in the new environment once again, while Wade shut the door behind me. ''What is this place, anyway? What's going on? I... Have so many questions...'' I was getting dizzy again.

''Remember how my last apartment blew up? Well... Through some connections I was allowed to live in this place for a bit. It's... not well kept. And filthy. But it's something.'' Wade sighed. It really looked like he also went through a lot. Everything that happened obviously was tough. It really made me wonder how he made it through all those weeks living like this. I knew he probably didn't bother but it made me worry about him either way.

''Agh...'' I felt that horrible pain in my head again.

Wade quickly came up to me. ''What's wrong?''

''Migraine. I need to lay down.''

He took me to his bed where I could get some rest. I took my mask off, lied down on my side and closed my eyes. Wade also got on the bed and hugged me from behind. ''This is a lot for you to take in.'' He said sadly.

''It is, but I wouldn't have it any other way.'' I said. ''I'm back with you and that's all that matters.'' I took a moment of silence before speaking again. ''Wade, the injury made me completely forget about what happened. It was so difficult to remember everything. It's like I took a break from reality. I'm just so glad that I'm back again. Everything is going to go back to normal. We'll go trace down that guy and we'll put an end to this.''

''Whoah, whoah, calm down.'' Wade stopped me. ''I'm not putting you in danger again.''

''But I'm okay now-''

''Peter, you nearly fainted like three times ever since we met up again. You need more time to heal. Finding this guy isn't the priority.'' He almost sounded like he was growling from anger saying that, but I knew he was saying it with care.

''Right.''

''I'm so sorry you had to go through this. It's all my fault, I can't believe I let this happen to you.'' His voice went back to a more gentle, sad tone again.

I put some effort to turn around and face him. ''It wasn't your fault Wade, don't let anything or anyone make you think that. Who said it? Was it the boxes?''

''Well...''

I chuckled. ''You sure have some nerve to listen to them. Here's me telling you that it's not your fault. It's just something that happened, and now it's over with. We move forward.'' I gave him a reassuring smile as he smiled back. I pulled Wade in for a kiss.

We spent some time having some more light-hearted conversations, making each other laugh so we could feel a bit better.

''You know...'' I started. ''This place is really nasty. We should find a better place when we get this whole mysterious villain thing over with.''

''I know, I mean, it's so dirty there's even a spider on my bed.'' Wade chuckled with his pun and I gave him a nudge. After he was finished laughing he looked at me in the eyes. ''You'd really want to share a house with me? I can be a real pain in the ass, both metaphorically and literally!''

''Wade, oh my god.'' I laughed again. ''Listen, listen, okay? You're gonna absolutely stink up the place with mexican food and it's gonna be a mess. But somehow I fell for that... Charm? I just want you to promise one thing about the new place.''

''Mhm?''

''No hostages.'' I smiled.

''Hmmm... No promises. But I can take it into consideration, if that makes you feel any better?''

I sighed. ''Fine by me, I guess.'' I closed my eyes to rest again. ''I gotta introduce you to Aunt May. You're gonna make quite the impression. We're gonna live close to her, by the way.''

''So you can deliver her the groceries you never manage to keep on you?'' Wade teased me.

''Oh, shut up.''

''OooOoohh, I'm Peter, and I always lose my groceries on the way back home! I have a nice ass and I'm sooo gay!'' He tried to do a horrible impression to keep teasing me.

''You're so annoying.'' I sighed, trying not to laugh.

''You have no idea!''
