A loud hiss came from behind Storm, "Don't you dare leave me!"
Storm whipped his head around to face the old white and grey tom with a growl, "Why? You lied to me!! You're not my real father."
Cloud, the white and grey tom, let out a long groan and answered, "This is why I never planned on telling you! Because you will react like this!" He lashed his ragged tail and glared at Storm with icy blue eyes that matched Storm's then sighed, "Just come inside so you can hear everything I have to say."
Storm rolled his eyes and stomped back inside the abandoned twoleg den where he and Cloud were currently living in. "Fine."
They sat down and faced eachother. Cloud began his sotry, "One day I was wandering around twolegplace, looking for a scrap of food. I heard mewling and saw you on the side of the thunderpath. I brought you inside my den and fed you some of the leftovers of a mouse I caught the other day.
"You were so tiny and it was obvious your mother had abandoned you so I took you in and raised you as my son." the old cat's whiskers twitched at the memories. "After some searching I found that your mother was Brownie, a kittypet who was too young for the responsibility of being a mother. I never found your father."
Storm stared at Cloud straight-faced. "You telling the truth?"
"Of course I am!" Cloud hissed and jumped up but ended up coughing and spluttering instead. Storm knew Cloud was soon to pass away.
Storm shrugged, "Well, I think it's time for me to leave. You know.. do my own thing, live my own life." He stood up and shook out his sleek black fur and started to pad away.
Cloud growled and leapt in front of him. "No! I am your guardian and I need to protect you! You're still young and need more knowledge of the world." His stinking breath that Storm was used to by now blew onto his face.
The midnight black tom growled back, "I'm 12 moons old now!! You don't need to follow me around all the time! I can hunt for myself and fight off any cat who dares to challenge me!! I even fought a dog twice the size of you!"
Cloud curled his lip into a snarl, "So be it! But if you end up being beat up by the other street cats out there then I won't help you!"
"Fine!!" Storm hissed and fled the twoleg den before Cloud could utter another meow.
