Waterfly's P.O.V:

"You what?!" Waterfly exclaimed at Demonpaw as she treated the apprentice's wounds. Demonpaw was explaining what had happened at the border.

Demonpaw nodded proudly, "Yup. I was braver than any cat in Lightclan today! I stood up to the thieving Magiclan cats." She puffed out her chest.

Brave or stupid? Waterfly muttered inside her head but said aloud, "Well, at least you didn't get seriously injured." She finished applying cobwebs to Demonpaw's wounds and let the young she cat scamper away to boast about how she 'won' the battle.

Waterfly had already healed Stormflame and Silverstar so she stood up and sighed, "Why did it have to be Demonpaw who stayed in Lightclan. Fallenkit- I mean Hope would have been such a nicer cat." She muttered under her breath.

"I heard that." Waterfly heard a tom meow and she looked up to see Clearlight standing at the entrance to the medicine den. He wore a sly grin on his face, "You'd better thank Starclan it wasn't Demonpaw coming into your den."

Waterfly chuckled with a smile and sent a silent thanks to Starclan for not letting Demonpaw hear what she said. "So, Clearlight, you didn't just come in here to chat about Demonpaw. Why are you here?"

Clearlight took a seat from where he stood and meowed, "I was just checking on you. You know, the stress of having Sandkit sick with Whitecough and now Demonpaw causing trouble at the border  must be tough."

Waterfly knew he was lying about the reason he came into her den but shrugged it off. If it were anything worth telling her, he would tell her. "Yeah. I guess so." She agreed, "Having another Fluffystream in the clan is hard work for everyone." She let out a laugh at the memories of Fluffystream as an apprentice. "Remember all the trouble he got himself into? He did tue exact same thing as Demonpaw just did but with Monsterclan. Lightclan is now officially known as the clan with troublesome apprentices!!"

Clearlight laughed with Waterfly and grinned, "Yep." He curled his tail around his paws and watched at Waterfly swept away stray bits of herbs from the ground of the medicine den.

"Don't you have patrols to go on?" Waterfly asked, amused.

Clearlight suddenly jerked upright, "The hunting patrol!!" He yowled and then and flew out the den, tail streaming behind him.

Silverstar's P.O.V:

"Stormflame?" Silverstar called into the warriors den. A black head lifted up from one of the nests and a low grunt was heard.

"What?" Silverstar beckoned for him to come outside to talk so Stormflame stood up and padded sleepily out of the warm warriors den. "Yes?" His voice was tight with slight annoyance.

Silverstar rolled her eyes at his grumpiness, "I am going to assess you now. Remember?" She nudged him to the camp entrance.

Stormflame grunted, "Oh right... and you think that the best time would be right after a border fight?" He smirked up at Silverstar, playfulness glinting in his eyes.

Silverstar shoved his shoulder and chuckled lightly, "Yeah." She led him to the training hollow.

Once they reached the clearing Silverstar meowed, "Why don't we start with your fighting moves. Show me what you've got!" She crouched and waited for Stormflame's attack.

"Claws sheathed right?" He looked at her uncertainly.

Silverstar nodded, "Of course."

Stormflame dipped his head in acknowledgement and lunged for Silverstar. He aimed for her legs and she narrowly dodged his paws. He ended up scrambling in the dirt to try and regain his balance.

Silverstar made her move and ran at him. She dived under him and pushed him off of his paws. Stormflame got to his paws swiftly and darted to the side to confuse Silverstar.

She followed him with her gaze and tracked his movements. Then she lashed out at his side but he sidestepped out of the way.

Stormflame then charged at Silverstar and tried to knock her off her paws but because his had a thin build he couldn't muster the strength to pin her. Instead, Silverstar reared up onto her hind legs and pushed him over.

He fell hard on his bad and groaned, wriggling to get up, but Silverstar pinned him quickly and grinned down at him. "Good job." She praised and let him up. "Now onto the tree climbing."

__________

Stormflame's P.O.V:

"Tree climbing?" Stormflame sniffed, "I didn't know Lightclan cats climbed trees."

Silverstar nodded, "Yup. It's one of our best skills." She padded to a fairly large tree and said, "Race you to the top!" Stormflame trotted hurriedly to Silverstar's side as she counted down, "3...2...1... Go!!"

Stormflame jumped up the tree and dug his claws in. Silverstar over took him easily. Just imagine you're climbing a fence in twolegplace. The voice in Stormflame's head whispered and Stormflame closed his eyes and imagined the tree was a fence. He opened his eyes and started climbing quickly.

Silverstar was already halfway to the tree, her tail lashing to keep her balance. Stormflame climbed after her, quickly catching up to her. He tried to over take her but she moved in front of him to block his way. He slowed down to avoid colliding with the leader and turned to the left a bit so he could try to get past her again.

This time he was successful and he climbed past Silverstar. She let out a laugh and raced up to where he was so they were side by side. Stormflame laughed with her. He enjoyed spending time with her alone, just the two of them, it was fun.

They reached the top branch of the tree at the same time and sat together, pelts pressing, and watched the forest below them. The view was magnificent. Stormflame had never been this high up before and it took his breath away.

"The view... is amazing." Stormflame muttered in awe, his ice blue eyes shone in the light of the setting sun.

Silverstar nodded, "I enjoy sitting here. I used to come here when ever I felt stressed or sad. Leading a clan leads to a lot of stress so I guess I come here almost everyday." She chuckled with a smile. "The sun is setting, let's climb down and get ready for the final test, hunting."

Stormflame nodded and followed Silverstar down the tree. They made it halfway down the tree when a colourful butterfly landed on Silverstar's nose. She sneezed and lost her footing and started falling down the tree. "Silverstar!!" Stormflame yowled in panic. Silverstar grabbed at the bark but couldn't slow down her descend.

"I'm coming!" Stormflame screeched and leapt down branch by branch but he couldn't reach Silverstar. She had let go of the tree and was free-falling down to the ground. Stormflame had no time to think. His heart took over and he created a net of fire to break Silverstar's fall. All he wanted to do was save her life. He wouldn't be able bare it if she died.

Silverstar fell onto the net and bounced twice before rolling onto the ground. Stormflame climbed quickly down to Silverstar's side and ran to her, "Silverstar? Silverstar? Please answer me!!" He examined her pelt and saw minor burn marks from the fire net he had used to break her fall. If Waterfly were here, she wouldn't have had to hurt Silverstar.

Then Silverstar coughed and heaved. She raised her head and looked at Stormflame, her bright green eyes stared into his blue ones. "You saved my life." She whispered, "Thank you."

Stormflame looked at her sadly, "But I hurt you..." he pointed at her burn marks with his tail but she shook her head.

"If you hadn't created that fire net to save me I would be... dead." She stood up shakily and began to pad back to camp, "Let's go back to camp. We'll continue the assessment tomorrow."

She began to limp back to camp and Stormflame rushed to her side, "Here, lean on my shoulder." He felt her lean gratefully against him and he grunted from the extra weight but still continued padding slowly back home.
