Chapter 26

Waterfly's P.O.V:

Waterfly padded into the nursery to see how Clearlight was doing and froze when she realised that Clearlight and three other cats from the nursery were gone. "Mind telling me where Clearlight went?" She frowned.

Blazemoon whispered, "Don't know."

"The truth please." Waterfly meowed dryly.

The queen sighed, "He's out in the forest with three other cats for a quick run to stretch our legs."

"What?! Didn't you know why Silverstar said no going out of camp? There's an evil out there that could be attacking Clearlight and his patrol right now!" Waterfly cried out, "I need to get him back to camp!" She raced out of the nursery without a second glance at Blazemoon and sprinted into the forest.

Waterfly didn't hear anything suspicious as she neared the twoleg border. She had guessed that Clearlight would've circled around so sue started at the border.

"Clearlight?" Waterfly called out softly. She hoped Clearlight wasn't in trouble.

Then four cats dropped down from the trees around Waterfly. She yelped in surprise and felt her fur lift along her spine. "Who are you?" She got her paws ready to shoot water at any cat who stepped towards her.

The white furred tom meowed, "We have your friend and his patrol. Tell us who the four elementals are or join them."

Waterfly hissed, "You didn't answer my question!!"

The flame coloured one inclined his head to the white tom and spoke quietly.  Then he raised his head at Waterfly and meowed, "We are the first ever elementals of the world. We have been travelling for many many seasons to fulfil the ancient prophecy that spoke of a battle between four cats with powers like ours. Who ever one would become the four guardians of the elements."

Waterfly narrowed her eyes and stayed silent. The brown tom growled, "Just get her already!"

That seemed to scare Waterfly enough and she took off the other way, tail streaming behind her. She heard the four cats give chase and Waterfly twisted around to propel a shot of water at the cats.

"She's the water elemental!!" The flame coloured cat yowled in excitement. Why was he excited? Waterfly narrowed her eyes.

The blue furred tom smirked and slowed down. He raised his paws up and a wall of water flew in front of Waterfly. She went straight into it and fell to the ground with a howl of pain. She scrambled to her paws but the water had encased her in a little bubble and no matter how hard she tried, she could not break free.

The four cats circled her. "One down, three to go." The blue one grinned and flicked his tail for the bubble to rise off the ground and follow him as he padded away.

Waterfly sighed and gave up trying to escape.

Silverstar's P.O.V:

Silverstar looked outside her den. She felt like apologising to Waterfly for being rude. She climbed down the Hightree and trotted into the medicine den. Before she reached it, she was greeted by Blazemoon. The flame coloured queen was frantic. "Silverstar!! Waterfly went out in search of Clearlight and hasn't come back!"

Silverstar narrowed her eyes, apology forgotten, "She went out?!" She hissed under her breath, "Where?"

"By the twoleg border I think.." Blazemoon stared at Silverstar, "You should send out a patrol to search for them."

"Was anyone with Clearlight?" Silverstar demanded.

Blazemoon shuffled her paws, "Slowsky, Bigstep and Cloudpaw..."
