The Ravager's Office

***

"We heard that most of the meetings that had happened in this few months were left unattended", the man pointed it out in the hallway to meeting room when he saw Rogers blaming his staffs for the missing reports.

"And so I was told! Right! Who's fault could that be?" Rogers looked concerned, not really. The man gave Rogers a funny look indicating that it's nobody but his own fault. Rogers got the message loud and clear. He was furious. "And who's fault could that be?" He questioned again, blaming all that on Jeremy for taking his spot.

"Don't be such a girl, Raymond. You are not fit for the responsibility". He said as he put his hand on Rogers's shoulder. The man reminded Rogers about how unreliable he is to his family. Rogers had done a lot more than the man who claims himself worthy. Everything will be his soon.

Rogers shrugged that man's hand off his shoulder. "It's Rogers to you. Cut the friendly crap Jeremy. You're the one to talk. Who are you if it wasn't for the family backing you up. In fact, you married Elizabeth knowing that she could be the key to your reign. I don't blame it on you, you are clever than I am. You knew it very well, that the Stans wouldn't let this comfortable life slip through their filthy fingers. Anyways, Elizabeth is not related to me which makes your existence irrelevant. Now, get the hell out of my face!"

Jeremy Haynes, 34, married to Elizabeth Stan, who also happened to be Rogers's mother's stepdaughter. He is the new and current Chief Financial Officer and soon to be the Great Mr Holland's heir. By which, he'll have The Ravagers and Rogers on the other hand rather die than to work under this power craving maniac. Jeremy and Elizabeth are now married for almost three years. Jeremy has been working for the Ravagers for almost seven years. By then, Rogers was twenty and had a lot of things going on his mind. Conquering The Ravagers was not one of them. It happened later, he learnt a few cruel truths about the company and the Hollands' secrets. Six years ago, he decided The Ravagers is the only thing he ever wanted. He's been working ever since. Mr Holland insisted that Rogers should stay out of this business, The Ravagers in particular. Rogers didn't give up. He fought for his birth rights that nobody cares to respect.

Mr Holland may be right about one thing. The Ravagers is his hard work, more like his own child and he can give it to anybody he wants including this insignificant Jeremy. Elizabeth wasn't really in love with her husband. She was a jilted bride. Probably he found out that his late girlfriend's death is connected to one of Watson Stan's misconducts. Jeremy offered to save the family's face on that morning and then he's one of the family. Watson liked Jeremy, he is talented and was beyond happy to have him in the family. Now, he's going to give Jeremy everything Rogers had ever wanted. There were times, Jeremy took credits for Rogers's work like the diamond mine dealing, workers' protest and murder trials. They trusted those were entirely under Jeremy's power to handle those issues. No one noticed what kind of coward Jeremy is.

"Don't keep on getting angry brother. It's funny now that you've mentioned my marriage with your unrelated sister, I'm wondering about your secret marriage. Is it one of the girls you used to sleep with? Did she got pregnant and blackmailed you into this wedding? You could have just dismissed that woman and her child. Why do you have to marry her? Unless, this-- your trick to change your old man's decision?" Jeremy pinched his eyebrows together and started to think. Rogers knew this would come. This is exactly what he wants. "Did you get a girl pregnant or found a pregnant girl and asked her to marry you for a few months until they accept you as their heir? That is a dick move Rogers. Once they find out, their dislike for you will turn into hatred". Jeremy firmly warned Rogers. But he was right. That's why nobody should know this is a contract marriage.
