Part 18

All are shocked with what Rishab confesses... Karan's eyes fill with tears and flow uncontrollably. Preeta whose own eyes are filled with tears looks at Karan painfully who seeing Preeta wipes his tears off...

Rishab: Preeta ji... Maine aapse humesha se pyaar kiya tha lekin phir Sherlyn aa gayi and sab ulajh gaya... Par ab aur nahi! Main aapse shaadi karna chahta hun... Will you marry me? (leaves out the part of him falling in love with Riya)

Riya is taken aback by what Rishab says... She steps back unbelievably! Tears flow down her eyes uncontrollably but she tries to hide them seeing all around!

Preeta: Rishab ji... Main... Yeh... Yeh sab? (is not able to form words and finds it hard to swallow the pain and speak)

Rishab: It's okay Preeta ji... Aap aaram se mujhe soch kar bata sakti hain... Main aapka intezaar karunga!

Rakhi: Arey waah ji! Aakhir kaar mere Rishab ko ek ladki pasand aa hi gayi... Aur woh bhi Preeta! (comes near Preeta and hugs her... Preeta looks at Karan while hugging who just smiles at her painfully and wipes his tears, Preeta is confused)Haaye... Main bata nahi sakti main kitni khush hun... (breaks the hug) Bhai main toh hamesha se hi Preeta ko apni bahu banana chahti thi! Sarla ji! Kya kehti hain aap?

Sarla: Kya bataun Rakhi ji! Preeta khush rahe, usse zyaada main kya chahti hun? Aur jo kuch hua uske baad yeh sab hona... Mere liye toh ek sapne ke baraabar hai!

Shrishti and Sameer look at each other worriedly...

Later, Arora family and Riya leaves... Preeta calls Karan who does not pick up her calls... After several attempts, she messages him and asks him to meet her at The Rose Garden.

Rose Garden

Preeta is waiting for Karan who comes and noticing Preeta wipes off his tears and comes in front of her with a smile...

Karan: Hey Preeta! Mujhe yahan bulaya... Kyon? Koi kaam tha? Oh... Ya phir decision le liya haan? (hits her shoulder with his shoulder... Preeta is confused seeing his behavior) Toh kya socha haan? Ghoda-Vodha mangvaa dun?

Preeta: Karan... Tum yeh sab kya keh rahe ho?

Karan: Kya kya keh rahe ho? Tumhe mere bhai ne propose kiya hai toh ab tum uski dulhan banne waali ho na! (says smilingly but closing his wrist tight to control his anger)

Preeta: Tumhe koi farak nahi padhta?

Karan: Mujhe... Mujhe kyon farak padhne laga, haan? (closes his wrist more tightly and faces the other side)

Preeta(faces him to her): Kyonki tum mujhse pyaar karte ho Karan!

Karan's face softens and he looks at her painfully before again faking a smile!

Karan: Oh god! Baby doll... Tum bhi na...(laughs) Bhool gayi... Who am I? The Karan Luthra! I am a playboy... Ladkiyon ke saath khelna mujhe pasand hai... Kabhi koi in toh kabhi out! Tum mein interest aaya toh in kiya ab nahi hai to out kiya... Samjhin!
Karan(in mind): I'm sorry Preeta... Mujhe tumse itni cheap baatein kehni padh rahi hai... Apne itne gehre pyaar ko jhutlaana padh raha hai... But main kya karun? Mera bhai Rishab tumse pyaar karta hai aur main tum dono se pyaar karta hun... Isiliye chahe jo bhi karun, kisi ek ki qurbaani toh deni padhegi... Lekin mere bhai ne mere liye bahut sacrifices diye hain aur ab meri baari hai!

Preeta: Karan... (looks down... after a pause) Haathon ko thoda aaram do!

Karan: Hun? (looks confusingly at her)

Preeta: Safed padh gaye hain tumhaare dabaane se...

Karan realizes he was closing his wrist too tight for a long time to control his anger making his knuckles white. He loosens them...
