I have seen the 'pearly gates' that mark the entrance to Heaven, and if you have ever looked to the skies during a cloudy sunset, then you have to. Only, it is not so much 'Pearly Gates' than it is 'a cloud bank radiating golden angelic light'. It's beautiful; it makes my breath catch in my throat every time, it brings a tear to my eye. Sparks a hope in my heart, that I too, will one day stand upon that cloud bank and look down at the broken world below, and just reminisce. Smile down upon all those I've loved and left behind. Beam brightly down to them so that they know I am there. I hope that standing upon that golden cloud bank, walking into Heaven, my footsteps create some kind of sign, something that they will notice and make them remind themselves that I am okay, which in turn will comfort them. To walk across that cloud bank and bring them comfort and a reminder of love, is something that I am sure every single soul in this world hopes to achieve. It will be so peaceful upon that cloud bank. I believe that there will in fact be a gentle melody, played out on a harp, to welcome me to my everlasting home. That as I walk to my rocking chair in my own personal corner of Heaven, the friends and family that had left me over the years will be there, to embrace me, kiss me on the cheek and welcome me home. When I finally take my seat all of my beloved pets will be there at my feet, purring and yapping, or in a fish tank on a small side table next to me. It will be as if I never left the Earth below. Also, on the side table there will be a mirror, a gold ornate one, like the one that came with my christening set that was lost. Not lost, here, right here in my hand. I use it to keep an eye on those left behind. I use to watch them, look out for them, send them a sign when they need one. I will learn something looking into that mirror. You know when you look into a mirror, and for a fraction of a second, you think you look beautiful, or handsome? Well, I will learn that that is because you have someone in Heaven looking at you through a mirror and telling you so, which is why as soon as you look away, you no longer feel it. It all starts on that cloud bank. The one that is seen so rarely. When the sun is setting and it's so cloudy that you don't think you will be able to enjoy the sunset. Then, as if someone heard you, there is a break in the cloud and the sunlight comes pouring through and lights up the whole sky for you. And then you see it, the entrance to Heaven, but of course, I'm not Heaven-bound.
