(Y/n) blinked her eyes open, the morning sun shining through the thin walls of her tent casting a beautiful yellow light over her and Leo.
Leo's mouth was slightly open, breathing softly as his eyes fluttered back and forth even as his eyes were closed. His arm was still around (Y/n)'s shoulders, holding her close to himself. Even his head was rested against her hair, which she found quite sweet.
(Y/n) smiled to herself as she slipped her hand into Leo's empty palm, tracing the rough lines over his fingers. After a few seconds, Leo subconsciously tightened his fingers around (Y/n)'s hand, squeezing it for a second then relaxing his hand.
Butterflies fluttered through (Y/n)'s stomach, causing her to smile. For a while she laid there, her head on Leo's chest, listening to the birds and the early breeze flutter over the surface of their tent, embracing her moment.
It was about 8 when Leo finally began to wake, careful not to stir in fears he would wake (Y/n).
He could feel her legs crossed over his own, the blanket having been kicked off long ago in the night.
It took him a few momemts to realise her hand was intertwined with his own.
His heart soared and his face brightened, twisting upwards into a wide smile. He couldn't believe it, did (Y/n) have the same feelings as him? Would it work out after all? He couldn't believe his luck.
(Y/n) inhaled deeply and stretched her legs, sighing contently. She turned her head up and met Leo's eyes sweetly, smiling in response.
"Good morning," she giggled, sitting herself up and away from Leo to face him, sitting with her legs crossed.
Disappointed slightly, Leo sat up as well, "good morning," he whispered, rubbing the sleep from his face.
"Thanks for staying with me last night," she ran a couple fingers through her tangled hair which Leo found absolutely adorable, "I don't know what I would do without a friend like you."
Leos heart stopped, shock spreading through his body, her words echoing through his skull on repeat like a broken record.
'Did she just say friend?'
Although crushed, Leo smiled and nodded, "of course, anytime."
(Y/n) giggled and nudged his shoulder playfully, "you should probably go, I dont want you to get in trouble," Leo smiled warmly, shifting his arms around her waist and pulling her towards him,
"I'm their fearless leader! The only trouble I am ever in is-"
"-If your caught" Donnie stood at the door with Mickey and Raph, each expressing a different varying set of anger, Raph of course being the worst.
"Oh, guys, don't get mad at Leo, he was just helping me out-"
"With what? 'Homework'?" Donnie's voice rose a couple octaves as he screamed at (Y/n).
Raph was conflicted, he was so upset that Leo had been with (y/n), all night, but at the same time he couldn't imagine raising his voice at her, it seemed so wrong to do something like that to such an amazing, beautiful person.
With an aggitated sigh, Raph stormed away from (Y/n)'s tent and to his own to start packing it up, in a rather harsh way.
Donnie and Mickey fell quiet for a second as they watched Raph tear the tents as if he were throwing punches, then turned back to Leo and (Y/n), whose faces were dark red with embarrassment.
"Guys, we will deal with this later, we are wasting daylight already, lets just pack up and go home." Donnie spoke softly, almost disappointed, which made (Y/n) feel as if she would cry.
Donnie walked away to help Raph not destroy their supplies, Mickey shortly behind him after sending a helpless look of regret towards his brother.
(Y/n) stared where Donnie and Mickey had stood, thinking off into her own world, and Leo watched, afraid of what she would say next. When minutes passed and she still had nothing to say, Leo decided to leave the tent, not wanting to make a problem any worse than it already was.
By noon the turtles and (Y/n) were on their way back home. The tents and supplies fit into two giant backpacks, which Raph and (Y/n) decided to carry, and no one argued.
Leo of course was the first to volunteer, but his wounded shoulder said otherwise.
The group walked in silence, each burried in their own thoughts, except Mickey of course, who kept Leo busy by explaining the plots of multiple tv shows he had made up on his own.
(Y/n) hugged her elbows tightly, keeping her distance behind the group as to keep from embarassing herself further. What was she thinking? She couldn't be with Leo, or Raph, she noted how happy it made her feel when she was with Leo and Raph over the past day and a glad, making her blush deeply.
Still, she appreciated the turtles' hospitality, and wouldn't dream of jeopardizing their safety or relationship with each other on her account.
"Hey, (Y/n), how you doin?" Raph came out of nowhere, startling (Y/n).
"You scared me," she breathed, smiling slightly.
"I get that reaction a lot," he laughed, walking next to her. Raph was considerably taller than (Y/n), as were the other turtles, so walking next to Raphael made (Y/n) look puny, which she found quite funny.
"Yes, im alright, just thinking."
"What about?"
"About earlier, it really was just a huge misunderstanding, I would never do something like that to your family, after all you guys have done for me..." She stared off once more, watching the trees bend and the leaves swirl in the ratger harsh winds.
"Listen, (Y/n), we just want you to be happy, and yea Leo is not the greatest choice," (Y/n) giggled, making Raph break into a smile as well, "But if your happy, so are we." He finished, grabbing her shoulder and pulling her into a side hug.
