Chapter 27: Find Myself

The teens made it back to their cabin just as the sun was beginning to set. Exhausted, they each subconciously agreed to not talk about what had occured on their trip until the morning.

After a nice warm pizza and a refreshing shower, (Y/n) decided to head to Aprils room to collect some clothes.

(Y/n) knocked on Aprils door lightly, pushing it open just slightly, allowing the light to spill into the dark hallway.

"Come in"

(Y/n) pushed the door wide enough to slip into the room and closed it quietly behind her.

"Donnie, uh, he told me I could borrow some clothes, if thats alright," (Y/n) shifted her weight from one leg to the other, twisting the fabric of her oversized-shirt into knots.

April laughed, jumping off her bed and diving into her closet, finding what she was looking a few seconds later and tossing it in her direction.

"You can keep these, you need them more than I do" she smiled, dropping a few pairs of jeans and yoga pants in (Y/n) arms, piling a couple different styles of shirts and then a few undergarments.

(Y/n) felt on the edge of tears, she had not had new clothes since before the invasion, and she missed having her own clothes.

"Thank You" she sniffled, pulling April into a hug.

"Of course, but now you owe me an explanation, what happened on that trip?" April pulled (Y/n) to the floor, sitting herself down just in front of one another.

(Y/n) searched for her words, but found herself speechless. How could she explain what had happened? Leo came and rescued her, they shared a moment, they reunited with everyone else and had a moment with Raph, then Raph saw her shirtless, then Leo in the tent... She was confused, scared even, there was no words for that.

"Its Raph....and Leo. I like them both, Leo is kind and selfless, and Raph is caring and-"

"Raph? Caring? Are we talking about the same turtle?" April giggled, but allowing (Y/n) to continue.

"They each are amazing, in their own ways, and make me feel so happy, but I dont want to cause any more damage to their relationships with each other than I already have, if that makes sense," (Y/n) finished, almost unsure herself whether or not what she had said was what she meant.

April thought for a moment, then smiled," I know exactly what you mean"

"You do?"

"Of course, I went through something lile that with Donnie and Casey a while back. Donnie was smart and flattering, but Casey was confident and, well, Casey" April giggled, and so did (Y/n), glad to actually taking part in a real girl talk, even though April still didnt trust (Y/n) all that much.

"So what did you do?"

"Well, I simply told both of them I thought they both were great, but I just wasnt looking for a relationship right then,"

(Y/n) groaned and fell back onto the floor dramatically, pressing her palms over her eyes.

"What is it that you want?" April asked kindly, (Y/n) sat back up and thought for a second.

"I....I dont know," she stumbled on her words, truly unable to understand her own thoughts.

"I mean, Leo is affectionate, sweet, brave, selfless...."

"But?" April squinted her eyes inquisitively.

"But, Raph is protective, loyal, sweet, and understanding." (Y/n) stared at the ground as she said this, thinking back on her time together with Raph and Leo, wonderful memories,

So why did they make her feel so awful?

"Well," April stared at the ground for a second, then took a deep breath and composed herself, looking (Y/n) in the eye, "I wouldn't make any decisions just yet, give yourself time to find yourself, and then focus on boys" she smiled, shifting her legs around her body and standing to her feet, (Y/n) following her lead.

"Get some sleep, we have a long day tomorrow," April smiled, turning away from (Y/n) and closing her closet doors.

(Y/n) nodded, hugging her new clothes tightly against her chest and shuffling out the door, back into the dark hallway.

'Find myself' she whispered to herself as she walked down the endless hallway, lost in her own thoughts.
