Written on Christmas day but just now being published :]
The time is 1:30.. it has been 4 hours since we started unwrapping presents.... I can do nothing but lean in my chair, facing the Christmas tree, and stare down at the floor covered in wrapping paper. It is torture to see such a waste of perfect paper, just laying on the floor all torn up. I am the oldest child in my family which means... I will be the one cleaning it all up. Last year I couldn't stop myself from picking up the paper and throwing it away but this year I have been able to restrain myself, so far..
When it comes to unwrapping presents, my family does things, very... differently... Instead of unwrapping all the presents at the same time as quickly and chaotically as possible, they like to draw out the chaos by organizing the mess of unwrapping one person at a time. They always go in order from youngest to oldest. So I am always last. This year I didn't get much either. Just some books and money. I only read Minecraft books so I don't know if I will even like "Harry Potter" I heard there is a bit of magic in the book series so my momma might only let me read the 1st book.
My sisters, however, almost got everything they wanted, from toy horses to nail painting kits. It helps that we are at out Aunt's house and her daughter is my sisters' age and she likes everything they do. My brother, who is only a year younger than me, is a lot like my twin in the way that he as well understands the pain of being the oldest of 5 children. Both of us are just sitting down in chairs, waiting for everyone to finish handing out presents and disperse to do their own things.
Soon this will all calm down... Soon I will be able to leave this chair and stop eating Milkyways... Soon I will be able to sit back at the computer and animate again... IF my aunt hasn't planned another game for us to play.
The last game we played, which was 2 days ago, lasted almost 3 hours. I and one of my 3 younger sisters, were the only ones left. Everyone else had either lost or had given up due to the game lasting so long. But neither of us were going to quit. $5 dollars were on the table and I have been collecting all I can to buy my new computer. That $5 dollars would give me a small boost. The game eventually ended in a draw and both of us received $5 dollars because the adults felt bad that we were still playing and neither of us looked like we were going to win any time soon. I haven't told anyone but any time someone mentions that game, my stomach feels queasy at the memory. :]
