Karate rules:(the link to karate rules)
The word rules is never a fun word to hear. I am pretty sure that just about everyone's immediate reaction to the term is a feeling of limitation. However, rules are beneficial. For instance, in the sport Karate, when a large portion of it is punching and kicking, there have to be rules to make sure no one is harmed.
Just about every karate dojo, or cluster of several different dojos, has a karate tournament every year to test the students' skills they have acquired over the years. As someone who attended once or twice, I had learned these rules since I wanted to know what exactly was going on. The rules for every dojo are very generic since Karate as a whole is very broad, but helpful nonetheless.
When actually reading the list of rules in a single match, it is clear that this is a sport built off respect and courage. Everyone who participates does not have to worry about being injured and unfair play. The challenge is based on skill, not whoever is the last standing, and the rules help to ensure that.
